8 Hours in Boston

September 2, 2011 at 11:45 am by Claudia

A whirlwind of a day in Boston – Don had never been there and we had two free hours before the game,  so I took him on a walk through Beacon Hill. (I am in love with the window and door on this house.)

Don did his salute to Abbey Road.
We visited the ducks in the Public Garden.
And the swans.
Went to Fenway. Glorious. Sat in the grandstand amongst a great group of fans.
We had the best time. We ate lots of not-so-healthy food (including a cupcake that was a wee bit too rich.) Cheered for the Sox. They lost, but we don’t care. The experience of being in that almost 100 year ballpark so full of history was priceless. We had to drive home after the game and arrived back at MHC at 4 a.m. I got up at 8:30. Not enough sleep. But oh so worth it.
I have more photos to share with you. But that will have to be on another day.

Love the window and door, too. You look like you had a well-deserved fun day. Love the last photo. (frame-worthy)

You had perfect weather for your special day. I played hookie from work and was out running around myself.

There is something magical about Fenway Park isn’t there? Your photo with the beautiful evening sky is beautiful. Glad you could get away from everything if only for 8 hours.

Bob made 14 consecutive Opening Days at Fenway when he worked in Boston – and I went a few times when we lived in Mass. Glad you guys had such a fun day – know it was long and tiring though.

Claudia, you you look fabulous even after surgery and then the hurricane experience – so glad you are doing OK. Love the Abbey Road shot – doesn’t everyone!

Happy Holiday weekend – we’re heading to D.C. I need to get a visa for Vietnam (yes, another trip!).
    Take care dear.
    Hugs – Mary

    Claudia,
I am so glad that the two of you had a wonderful day. You deserve it.
Our neighbor is a diehard Red Sox fan. According to him…..the red sox never lose…..they just didn’t win that particular game. Semantics, I know.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

Lovely pics Claudia, how nice that the two of you could get away and have some fun after all the recent traumas.

I’m guessing that the Beacon Hill dollhouse is named after this area in Boston, I had no idea there was such a place, as they say you learn something new everyday.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
