This morning I opened up the blinds and saw the trailer bird house tilted downward, looking precarious. It was raining, but I went out and got the ladder from the shed and proceeded to try and prop it against the tree, which involved unlocking certain sections of the ladder.
Then, I thought I should wait for Don to help me. Of course, he lectured me about carrying the ladder. He was right, so I can’t challenge him on that one. I can only say in my defense that I have no idea whether mama is sitting on eggs yet, and I was worried. I was also worried that they might not come back if they saw the house in a dangerous position. So we went out there, and Don put it firmly back in place.
You know, the other day I saw a squirrel run up the tree and pause by the house, then jump on top of it and continue up the tree. Maybe that kind of thing caused the house to tilt downward? Who knows?
I just hope my Carolina wrens were in blissful ignorance of this morning’s change to their property and will never know the difference.
For Vicki, per her request:
Fabric Easter eggs, made by yours truly many moons ago.
That will most likely be the extent of my Easter decorations…maybe a Vintage by Crystal figurine.
I ordered a dress from my friend LenaLittleDresses long before the war started. Lena lives in Russia. I gave up hope of ever receiving it.
It landed in my mailbox on Thursday, much to my surprise.
Here it is on Madeleine. Isn’t it lovely?
I sat in my blogging chair yesterday and watched the opening game of the baseball season. Sadly, the Red Sox lost. But it was so nice to sit there in the afternoon listening to the game, quilting hoop and thread in hand. I love baseball.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

Do you remember Ernie Harwell broadcasting Tiger games? His voice was always the sound of summer to me.
The eggs are lovely.
Claudia says
Absolutely! I can still hear his voice in my head.
Stay safe, Suzanne!

Oh, those eggs! I’m swooning — they’re wonderful in the Fiesta and so colorful and bright! Love ’em to the max!
I’m so glad you could straighten the nest (and got help from Don — good move!). I think you’re right about the squirrel. I had hopeful news yesterday — I saw Wrennie sitting on the perch of the B&B. Perhaps she’s checking it out for another year? It was the first sign of her since last spring.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Claudia says
Yay! You saw Wrennie! Fingers crossed, Jeanie.
Stay safe.

I’m so glad you were able to fix the birdhouse and let’s hope the wren’s are pleased and return! What a cute dress. Loving all the outfits your girls have. Baseball is relaxing I must say. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs!

I love baseball. Love watching it, but also love hearing it on the radio.
Stay safe, Linda.

I love baseball, too. And I’m a Red Socks fan due to my nephews from Boston. Because they were quite tall when they were children I once had two Red Socks shirts which I loved dearly.
We had a storm last night, and what isn’t in upright position anymore is due to wind and nothing else.
Have a nice weekend!
Regula

Glad to hear you’re a Red Sox fan, Regula!
Stay safe.

I wondered about that the other day; if you’ve now lost all your Russian and even Ukraine(?) sources for Blythe doll accessories; so sad; takes work/pay away from people who don’t do it for the fun but who probably need the money.
Thank you for photos of your fabulous-fabric eggs; I like looking at the various patterns and they’re stuffed just right. I never see cloth eggs, which is why I love yours! All I have out for decoration at the moment are some colored malted milk balls which are meant to look like Easter egg colorways but I’m avoiding eating them because they have those chemical-y food dyes and, of course, it’s SUGAR, just like the sentimental yellow Peeps. Or a foil-wrapped chocolate bunny. (Yep, I’ve got all three; will they remain as decoration, or will I eat them? Oh, the dilemma. Probably should go to the neighborhood kids!)
I think I’ll scream if I hear one more word about somebody in my not-wide circle getting Covid. (My husband’s circle IS wider and he’s hearing the same, so I figure we better get our fourth shot pretty soon. [We’ve been waiting; our local ‘numbers’/cases are low.]) Now it’s my cousin who’s like my brother and he’s very sick despite being fully vaccinated. Where was he not careful? Age 73; has a pacemaker; diabetic. Urgent Care sent him home with a cocktail of drugs but he’s coughing his head off and it’s so exhausting for him; lives alone. I’m so worried but I’m 1500 miles away.
I keep wondering why they’re giving him antibiotics when I thought antibiotics were pointless against viral infections and only for bacterial ones; my husband thinks it might be to ward off pneumonia since my cousin is feeling like he has the worst bronchitis of his life and can barely haul himself out of bed in the morning. I told him to be on top of that breathing; call 911 if it gets any worse; doesn’t mean they’d put him on a vent in the hospital, but maybe just some aid of oxygen would be the ticket (it’s not the worst thing in the world; I had a surgery where I was in the hospital for five days and I was on oxygen the entire time til discharge).
You know, he’s just so social and goes out to eat a lot; congregate settings like dinner theater. Taking off the mask to eat and drink, I also just wonder if that’s when he got exposure, like inside of a restaurant. Which is precisely why I don’t do that sort of thing yet.

Russian sellers are finding ways to sell things, but it’s far too complicated for me. Ukrainian sellers are still able to ship things out – though it took some time for it to get back to some form of normal. Many of them, of course, have fled to other countries. One I know of is in Poland. Another is in Germany. A few are still in Ukraine. I bought a little Blythe-sized chair from a woman who is still in Ukraine and needs money. It’s on its way here, but I imagine it will take a long time to arrive. I just wanted to help her out.
As for Covid, you’ve only to note the amount of people in the government who have tested positive and attended the Gridiron dinner. It’s still with us.
Stay safe, Vicki.
