I finished “The World of Frankenstein” yesterday. This one was quite a challenge and you know that I love that. I do not want my jigsaw puzzles to be too easy, just like crossword puzzles. The illustration and the color palette are fabulous. I’ve never read Frankenstein and I think I’m going to read it next year.
Next up: “The World of King Arthur.”
But in the meantime, I have an oil change scheduled at noon. And I’m gathering things together for my trip to Wonderland of Play on Sunday. Then I’ll start the newest puzzle.
It’s very, very cold this morning, as it was yesterday morning, so the plants are still inside. It’s going to warm up today, so I’ll put them back out on the porch. I haven’t gone out there yet, but I’m sure the impatiens are gone. They were already on their last legs so I didn’t try to bring them inside. I think we’ll have a week of above freezing temperatures, then another two days when I have to bring them in, then warmer temperatures again. So I should be able to keep them going through at least half of November.
My two Dragonfly Blythe girls. I thought I should give them a chance to talk about their life with Ola in Israel. I asked Nina to get Pru up to speed on life in the cottage.
Don’s almost finished with War and Peace. Hurrah! Both of us will have finished way ahead of the end of the year deadline.
Okay. More coffee to be made.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday,

That puzzle does look challenging, but lots of great details. I’ve thought of reading Frankenstein, too; it’s on my long list! We’re having colder weather, but no rain… we’re teased with possible showers, but so far nothing comes of it. I’m reading Astor by Anderson Cooper. It’s interesting, especially comparing the greed of those early days by one man to some we hear of today. Stay warm!

Thanks so much, Barrie.

hope you are feeling much better now, claudia.
it’s a labor of love for you, i know, but sorry you have that work bringing in/taking out so many of your plants this time of year. that’s a lot.
same see-saw with the temperatures here. anymore fall around here seems to last a month, six weeks if we’re lucky. i am good with cooler weather (summer heat could end sooner, as far as i’m concerned). snow, too. just dreading ice and sleet.
good luck with the oil change. glad you have the “wonderland of play” to look forward to!
i’m glad pru and nina are together and am sure pru had already learned the cottage is a wonderful place to be.

ola … if you read claudia’s blog … please be safe and well and know that lots and lots of people around the world care about you, are praying for you and everyone else and doing whatever else we can to help. i am one of them. sending hugs, too, if okay. … kathy

early congratulations to don for reading all of “war and peace”, too. as long as it’s not grisly and creepy, i think i’d like to read “frankenstein” (among other classics). is that part of a 2024 read-along? if so, i’ll join!
hope you, don and everyone else have a great day. stay safe.
kathy

I don’t know of Frankenstein being part of a readalong, Kathy. It’s just a great classic to read.

l loved the purple scrunched socks on Pru. The girls looks so natural propped on the shelf. Enjoy your adventure on Sunday and the weather should be great. Come back reenergized . Have fun.

Thanks so much, Maria.

Nina and Pru look like sisters. I’m sure they will be best friends. Love Pru’s cozy little sweater. I’m on the search for more knitted sweater ornaments that might be repurposed as cute winter sweaters for the girls but no luck so far. Hope you have a lovely time at the conference. Stay safe. Hugs, Elaine

Someone said they saw some on Kohl’s website. I don’t know about Canadian Tire. They were my favorites!

The girls are looking a little unsure of each other!
That puzzle is a beauty — and I can’t wait to see King Arthur, one of my favorite of legends.
Cold at night here, too. I’m bringing in the last of the geraniums and taking them back out when it warms up. I’ll probably do that through the weekend. Next week might be dicey.
Happy weekend, Claudia, and have a ball on Sunday!
Claudia says
I’ve always loved the story of King Arthur, so this will be a pleasure to work on.
Stay safe.
Roxie says
I think impatiens are the most susceptible to frost. I brought mine in well before our recent three nights of killing frost. Now I’m hoping that a lone geranium might survive an accidental night of neglect. We are cozily enjoying flannel sheets and a down comforter at night while our sunny days are gifting us with 60s and 70s. Hurray!
Claudia says
Surprisingly, when I took the other plants out to the porch today, the impatiens were still alive! I had moved them in further on the porch and maybe that helped.
Stay safe, Roxie.

Wow! Look at that puzzle! And you put it together so fast! In my house it would eventually get done, laid out on the table waiting for someone to go by and spend a few minutes on it. But you, you really move it along. I’m impressed. What do you do with them when you’re finished? We have one that comes out every year at Christmas — just because I like the image. Hope you have a great time at Wonderland of Play, and that you’ll tell us all about it next week. I have to work this weekend, but with any luck, I’ll get some hand sewing done too. I’d like that. Take care of you and your beloved.
Claudia says
I donate them to a local center for those in need.
Stay safe, Elizabeth,
