Jeanmarie of Mrs. D Crochets shared Guideposts magazine, founded by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, the famous believer in the power of positive thinking. Jeanmarie believes in positive thinking and the Law of Attraction – as do I. Her subscription magically starting appearing in her mailbox in September. She has no idea who sent it to her but she sure appreciates it.
Deb at Just Cats shared the wonderful garland a blogging friend sent her. Beautiful tabby cats carrying plum pudding. I love this! And I can’t imagine a more perfect place to display it in than Deb’s home.
Sandy, of Delightful Eclectic Abode shared her love of dogs. Look at that face! And the underbite! As a certified dog lover myself, I totally understand Sandy’s feelings.
My favorite thing this week is Roseville Pottery:
I have a modest collection and some of it is shown in this photo. Some pieces have been found at auction or on eBay or in shops, others have been given to me by a fellow blogger. I love the lush look of Roseville. The curvy lines, the flowers, the wonderful colors. It can be expensive, so I only buy a piece every once in a while. I have some beautiful pieces on my dresser in my bedroom, as well.

One of my concerns about link parties is that the very reason for them has somewhat gone by the wayside. They’ve become so big and there are so many of them that many bloggers don’t take the time to visit any of the other participants. Link parties are a way to meet new bloggers and share with each other and the only way to do that is to visit each other. So, please, take some time to visit everyone over the next few days. No rush. Stop by, introduce yourself, and leave a comment. It’s the neighborly thing to do. It’s also nice if you leave a comment here, as well.

I agree that there’s TONS of link parties…and that some, while reaching 200+ each week, we tend to get lost in the crowd. I do love the parties, tho and TRY to visit at least the one in front of my link and the one behind. I visit more when possible.

The Roseville pottery is beautiful! That’s just another great thing about blogland — learning about so many things that you’ve never heard of or seen before! I also enjoyed Scout’s take on the trip to Hartford. Thanks for mentioning my favorite thing from last week. Guideposts customer service was able to tell me that my new subscription came from a friend (all the way back from high school!) with whom I still keep in touch. Hi Claudia; so happy for Scout (and you too) that the trip and sometimes separation wasn’t too tough on Scout. I couldn’t think up a post for favorites because I was doing stacks of paperwork – and then – why not write about doing paperwork. Yes, Claudia, your pottery is absolutely gorgeous. I have always admired Roseville Pottery. I googled where it was made – Zanesville, Ohio. I have some Rookwood pottery that was made in Cincinnati where I am from. I just love it all. Thanks for sharing your favorite thing and hosting this party!

Oh my gosh Claudia thank you for featuring Sierra and my story “For the Love of Dogs” Its’s such an honor to be featured on your blog. It’s funny, I was just getting ready to do a Facebook post about how much I love your bog. I popped over here to grab your URL and noticed you featured Sierra’s photo. My niece and nephew were so delighted to see that Sierra got her 15 minutes of fame. The family has had some serious health issues to contend with so this was some happy welcome news. You made our families day!

What a great collection of features. I just fell in love with Sandy’s orthodontically challenged pup! What a cutie. My favorite kitty, Chloe, had a terrible overbite…and it endeared me to her even more!

Roseville has a way of just magically transporting you back to a different era, doesn’t it? Your collection is gorgeous. My mom has a couple of pieces that I admire every time I go home.
Your Roseville pottery is lovely my boyfriend and I have tried to buy some over the last year but the price always go’s over our tap out amount. It was nice to see your collection we don’t see alot of it in our area.
