A Favorite Thing #30

March 29, 2013 at 8:00 pm by Claudia

afavoritething

Welcome to A Favorite Thing #30! Thirty sounds nice and solid, doesn’t it? Hard to believe we’ve been getting together  every Friday and Saturday for thirty weeks. Before I forget, if you celebrate Easter, have a happy one.

Highlights from last week:

LRayPastelsBL3

Jillian’s collection of LuRay Pastel Dinnerware. Gorgeous. I have always admired her collection, which is beautiful any time of year, but especially at Easter time! Jillian blogs at Bella Rosa Antiques.

DSC_6263_thumb[6]

Kara of That’s the Way the Cornbread Crumbles, shared a photo of her new bowls – 5 of them. The green bowl is calling my name.

peep3

Kristina, of Mother’s Niche, shared her recipe for Rice Krispie Nests and Eggs with Peeps. Aren’t these adorable? And now I’m craving a good old Rice Krispie Treat. I love those things!

Thanks so everyone for sharing a bit of your heart with us every week!

This week I’m sharing the last in my egg cup series:

eggcups14

Left: A pretty lustreware egg cup. Love the aqua color on the rim.

Right: One of my favorites because it is so sweet. A little girl in her bunny costume, holding an egg cup.

I hope you’ve enjoyed exploring my collection for the past 2 weeks. I’m all energized to start collecting more; maybe branching out beyond my mostly figural egg cup collection.

Now it’s your turn!

You can link up anytime from this evening through Sunday. Make sure you enter the URL of your post. If you’re unsure how to do that, just click on your post title after you’ve published it and copy the information in your browser address window. Come back here, paste the URL into your link entry and there you go! If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll help you out. Please link back to this blog on your post. That way, those that read your post and are interested in reading more can do so.

One of my concerns about link parties is that the very reason for them has somewhat gone by the wayside. They’ve become so big and there are so many of them that many bloggers don’t take the time to visit any of the other participants. Link parties are a way to meet new bloggers and share with each other and the only way to do that is to visit each other. So, please, take some time to visit everyone over the next few days. No rush. Stop by, introduce yourself, and leave a comment. It’s the neighborly thing to do. It’s also nice if you leave a comment here, as well.

Enjoy, everyone!

    Hi Claudia!
I think you have the most unusual collection of egg cups I’ve ever seen. You’ve got me thinking I might enjoy a little collection, too. Hmmm.
Regarding the way we dress…. That is a subject that I sometimes wonder about also. I used to dress to the nines…perfectly posh in every way. But, everyone has gotten so casual. I think that has encouraged me down a road I never thought I would travel. Sure…we need to dress the part…whatever that is when we go out. But at home…I think comfort is the way to go. And…let’s thank God that our guys think we’re still beautiful even when we don’t see ourselves that way so much as we discover a few facial wrinkles and such.
    Joyous Easter to you!

Love all the bright, spring colors you featured this week. Especially nice after this crazy, cold weather that seems to be lingering. Thanks for 30 weeks of Favorite Things!

Thanks again for hosting Claudia. A treat always to join in. I have enjoyed your many posts this week, the egg cups, the ‘being who we are now’ big discussion was right on, the ‘how life is’ and the bunny rabbit ears photos (sorry Scout but I LOVED seeing you in bunny ears). I needed something very cheerful and Scout and his facial expression was perfect.

Good Morning, I have stopped in and had a good visit reading your post. I always want to comment but it seems like you get so many, I say to myself “she won’t even notice one more!
But this morning I said to myself “leave her a comment” So, I went back and read the last couple of posts and I probably will give to you what the last hundred may have said. LOL
I was kind different with the girlfriends I had in my earlier years. They were twelve to twenty years older than me.
    And I would like to think , that they did teach me so much, by their words and their actions. One thing that really stuck was this;
Everyday prepare yourself for your own well being. If you take the time to do this it really will make you feel special.
I believed them. So still to this day I am almost sixty now, and I can say this is true. I dress for me and I put my perfume on so I feel lovely. I buy a lot of things from second hand stores. I love the treasures.
I am also a very visual person so this insight has helped me to stay the course.
Sorry this was so long! That’s what happens when you wait too long to comment!
    Blessings, Roxy

That little girl in the bunny suit is adorable, Claudia! And I love the lustreware egg, too. I have one almost identical to that except mine doesn’t have the lovely aqua rim on it. (How perfect for you that it has that color you love!) Thank you for hosting this week’s party. I wasn’t near a computer so couldn’t partcipate, but I’m looking forward to seeing what others have posted here. Hoping you had a lovely Sunday, complete with Easter Scout.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
