Hello, everyone! Welcome to A Favorite Thing #31. I thought we had a pretty nifty turnout last week, considering it was a holiday weekend. Let’s look at some highlights:
Angie of Oopsie Maizie shared a wonderful project that she made with her kids: birds made of salt dough with nests made from shredded paper lunch bags, molded to a bowl and then mod podged with the addition of some pieces of yarn. Isn’t that adorable?
Mary of A Breath of Fresh Air shared her love of texture with some gorgeous photos.
And, though I don’t have a photo to go with this post, Susy of The Feathered Nest wrote beautifully of her friend Rachel in a post entitled, Thursdays with Rachel. If you didn’t get a chance to read it, I urge you to. You will be happy you did.
This week:
I’m favoriting (I made up that word) my modest collection of miniature pottery. I just started collecting some of these pieces last year and I really love them. As most of you know, I am nuts for pottery and china and I have it all over the house. I’m also nuts about everything mini, so these little pieces didn’t have a chance once I saw them. Some of them were purchased by me and others were sent by dear blog friends.
Now it’s your turn!
You can link up anytime from this evening through Sunday. Make sure you enter the URL of your post. If you’re unsure how to do that, just click on your post title after you’ve published it and copy the information in your browser address window. Come back here, paste the URL into your link entry and there you go! If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll help you out. Please link back to this blog on your post. That way, those that read your post and are interested in reading more can do so.
One of my concerns about link parties is that the very reason for them has somewhat gone by the wayside. They’ve become so big and there are so many of them that many bloggers don’t take the time to visit any of the other participants. Link parties are a way to meet new bloggers and share with each other and the only way to do that is to visit each other. So, please, take some time to visit everyone over the next few days. No rush. Stop by, introduce yourself, and leave a comment. It’s the neighborly thing to do. It’s also nice if you leave a comment here, as well.
Enjoy, my friends!

Thanks for hosting Claudia. I’ve been looking for a long time to find a hoosier and this one gives me more prep space as well as somewhere to display my Pyrex collection. Have a great week.

I totally “get” how you are addicted to anything in miniature because I am too! But you already knew that didn’t you? Your mini pottery collection is charming and if I get started on one I am blaming it all on you ;-) Thanks for hosting Claudia and have a great weekend with sweet smelling Scout. Bentley needs a bath too, but I am not going to let him know he is getting one just yet!
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Hi Claudia,
To quote a fabulous writer, ”I’m favoriting” a little spot in my garden that’s just starting to bloom, in its own time, in its own space, a place of peace and quiet. Thanks for hosting; your mini pottery collection is grand!
Have a great weekend,
Poppy xo

Good Morning Claudia, It is lovely to be back from my travels and to be part of A Favourite Thing. Your miniature pottery collection is delightful and I love how you have presented the pieces. Each week I enjoy seeing what “puts a smile” on everyone’s faces when they join your party.
Have a lovely weekend.

My Nook makes it so tricky to link on longer posts but I want you to know I’ll get it on tonight with the desktop computer. Thank you for hosting!

Love the minis – and that is the perfect place to display them Claudia.
I almost missed this week’s post for today, time ran away as I was so busy with a multltude of things – well mostly getting Jasmin gussied up for Spring – boy was that ever tiring, I really dislike mall shopping so much!
Hope all is going well for Don – lucky devil being over there!!!!!
Huge hugs to you and Scout – hope the weather is pretty for you this weekend.

Hi Claudia…I’m back to CollectInTexas Gal for the month of April with the AtoZ Blogging Challenge. My theme this year is based on two of my favorite subjects ‘Vintage Quilts and Texas’…AtoZ LoneStar Quilting Bee. I’ve missed your party, and I hope you will have a chance to come for a visit and meet the ladies of the LoneStar Quilting Bee. I’ll be there, too.

Hi Claudia: Love all your miniatures that you have displayed. I seem to be noticing them more and more now in the shops. I love the backdrop on your shelf, too. Thanks for having your link-up again. Lots of fun and I am off to visit now. Hugs, Deb

Hi Claudia!
I’m a little late to the party this week. ;)
My dear friends called and said they realized that they would be driving near our home on their way back to Michigan from Virginia. A perfect unexpected overnight visit, including not going to bed until nearly 4 AM….and up at 7:30 for breakfast and a stroll around town with our cameras before they had to take off early afternoon. Weekends don’t get much better than that! Who cares if one is sleep-deprived!
Some time ago I picked up a tiny yellow swan-shaped pitcher. It’s the only mini I have and I am totally in love with it’s sunniness too! Your collection is adorable!! And I see you have room to increase it too! ;)
Wishes for An Extraordinary weekend!!

Those little pitchers are adorable, Claudia. I especially love the little chubby yellow one on the bottom left. Last week was terribly busy for me, so I’m afraid I wasn’t able to look over many ‘favorites’ from the previous Friday, but it just means I have twice as many lovely things to check out this week! Thank you for making Favorite Thing possible. Hoping you’ll be having the same lovely weather we are going to have this week. x
