Welcome to A Favorite Thing! This edition comes to you from Hartford, where I am immersed in rehearsals for Twelfth Night. Since I will be working through the weekend, it might take me a while to visit all of you, but rest assured, I will.
Let’s look at some highlights from last week:
Linda, of Linda’s Minis, shared her creations with us. She made that miniature pitcher, as well as some miniature cinnamon rolls. Amazing!
Vicki, of Life In My Empty Nest, shared some photos of one of her favorite towns: Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since it’s one of my favorite towns as well and one I spent a lot of time in when I was living in my home state of Michigan, I truly enjoyed this post. Gosh, I’d love to get back there sometime!
Balisha, of Never Enough Time, told us about her young neighbor Audra and the time they have spent together. Balisha is a wonderful writer and she tells a great story about this charming girl.
This week, I’m sharing a little something that my sister sent me. Meredith and I are certifiably sheep and lamb crazy, did you know? We like to surprise each other with little lambs that we’ve found. She found this sheep made out of paper at a local store and it now lives in my studio.
I love her. The sheep. And my sister.
Now it’s your turn!
You can link up anytime from this evening through Sunday. Make sure you enter the URL of your post. If you’re unsure how to do that, just click on your post title after you’ve published it and copy the information in your browser address window. Come back here, paste the URL into your link entry and there you go! If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll help you out. Please link back to this blog on your post. That way, those that read your post and are interested in reading more can do so.
One of my concerns about link parties is that the very reason for them has somewhat gone by the wayside. They’ve become so big and there are so many of them that many bloggers don’t take the time to visit any of the other participants. Link parties are a way to meet new bloggers and share with each other and the only way to do that is to visit each other. So, please, take some time to visit everyone over the next few days. No rush. Stop by, introduce yourself, and leave a comment. It’s the neighborly thing to do. It’s also nice if you leave a comment here, as well.

Your lamb is adorable. It got me thinking ~ hmm I don’t collect sheep, perhaps I should start. But a little voice inside my head reminded me that if I start collecting anything else I may well be presumed to be a hoarder! I will just have to enjoy looking at yours. Thanks for another fun Friday evening Claudia.
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

I think being away from home at spring would be the most difficult time of year for me to be away, too. Glad you get to return for a respite and get your hands dirty and play in the dirt, Claudia. ;)
You are so wise to bring things from home to make your hotel room homey. Hotel furniture is strange…one wonders..’nough said. I love how you added your own bed covering to the bed. It makes all the difference.
Your sister sent you the sweetest lamb…oh my…I love it!! I used to be very much into sheep as well. I wonder what happened to them all? Hmmmm. Maybe the got lost in one of our many moves.
Wishing you an extraordinary run in Hartford!
Blessings!

What is it about sheep? They are just so darling. I absolutely melt when I see them up close. I purchased two new lamb ornaments at Easter and now I think I’m hooked on them. This little paper lamb is so sweet. Sisters are great. Hugs, Deb

Oh Claudia, another sheep lover! I cannot tell you how many photos I took of sheep when we were in Yorkshire and the Cotswolds. My husband would say, ‘You do know that we have sheep in Wisconsin, right??’ lol There are never too many sheep, as far as I’m concerned. That paper sheep is darling! What a cheery little gift.
Hope you have a good weekend in Hartford. Thank you so much for hosting the party. :-)

Hi Claudia,
Love how you made your hotel room ‘home away from home’ for the next little while with your quilt and throw and teddy bear. Trying to think of a suitable name for it. Today, I linked up one of my favourite things, which happens to be my kitchen. It’s the first time I’ve featured it in full. It truly makes me smile every morning – even before that first cup of caffeine!
Thanks for hosting and hope you have a pleasant stay in Hartford!

Love your little lambie….so cute.
Thankyou for featuring my Favorite Thing from last week. Audra is so easy to write about…a really special little girl.
Now, about this week….as I posted this, I started to feel like I had written about this before. If so….please forgive me…just blame my old gray head :)
Have a wonderful time in Hartford. Love the way you made your space “you”

I have missed too many great posts here Claudia! I hate it when I put so much time between visits. I always wonder if anyone else is having a hard time keeping up with their friends? But I always know that when I do make it here I will get to read a great post and she what you have been up to in your busy life :)
hugs from me…

Hi Claudia, You recommend books to read and I believe you mentioned this one. London Belongs To Me. Just finished it and really enjoyed the time period and the characters. (I’m hoping you were the one to mention this book because then I haven’t a clue of whom to thank.) It was written in 1945 ,by Norman Collins, and takes place 1939-1940. The lives of people living in London at 10 Dulcimer Street is the story line. There are 639 pages of enjoyable reading with a little incite to London and the year leading up to the war. Not to mislead anyone…….this is not about the war. Just a good read about the people living in the boarding house. I cannot pick a favorite chachter. Even the dislikable ones made for such an interesting read. Thank you. Pat McDonald

Hello Claudia
I now look forward to joining you with ‘A Favorite Thing’ on Saturdays – sorry I’m a tad late today!
I share your love of sheep – they each have their own personality and when analysed they are much like we humans!
Some are are lots of fun (especially love those) and others are quite boring/depressing (stay away from them)!!!
Contrary to popular belief, they don’t all look alike!!!
I love how you are personalising your Hartford hotel room – I love that quilt!!!
Many thankyous for hosting, especially as you’re a working girl this week!
Hugs

Hi Claudia, I read all your posts. Thanks for hosting. I’m heading up North again, away from home, and I take a bit of home comforts with me too. Computer, favorite pillow. Stuff like that.
