I’m writing this very quickly on a Sunday morning. Yesterday was a very long day. I left the house at 7:15 am and didn’t get home until 10:00 pm. Just about the same thing will happen today. And to top it all off, I keep waking up at 5:30 am, like clockwork. Sleep deprived. I had someone come by to check in on Scout yesterday, so her basic needs were taken care of. Nevertheless, by the time I got home, she was a more than a bit frantic. I hate having to put her through it all again today.

The director wants me to drive up to the theater, which is in the Berkshires, for some more work on Tuesday. The cast is moving from NYC to the theater on Monday. I know we have a bit more work to do, but I have to tell you, the thought of driving back up to the Berkshires and finding someone to check in on Scout is a tad overwhelming.

I have to drive there again next week in order to see Don’s show and bring him back home. Then we have to drive to Hartford a day later.

And when I am supposed to get time to work on the two scripts I have to start coaching in 2 weeks? They just arrived, via FedEx, on Friday.

Yikes.

It will all work out but right now I’m just plain tired.

I’m going to dash into the shower and get going.

Happy Sunday.

Thanks for sharing more pictures of your beautiful garden! That’s a tough schedule for both you and Scout. I hope you are able to get some rest tomorrow so you can tackle the new script. Soon it will be all done and Scout will have mom and dad back!

Claudia, I now know that the spiky red flower is bee balm…am I right. I saw one at the farmer’s market, the man told me it was bee balm…I didn’t know they came in red. I had only seen a purple colored one before. All your lilies look so pretty. We are fighting the worse case of crab grass ever. Had to call in the specialist and they better do right. Hope you have a beautiful week. xoxo,Susie

Poor Scout! If I lived nearby I would stay with her for you. She and I would get along famously. We are both old girls!
And in the second photograph on your blog today it looks like you have a covered body in your yard waiting for pick-up!

Beautiful blooms dear Claudia! I love seeing your lovely cottage garden.
It sounds like a crazy week you have going on, so I am sending an extra hug for you (and Scout)

Would it be possible to take Scout with you? We take our old dachshund with us and it hasn’t been a problem. Motels charge an extra $10 but it’s worth it. Just a thought. Take it easy and have fun. Yours truly- Elaine

Your flowers are gorgeous. Scout looks so cute in that pic….I’m sure she’s a bit confused by all the comings and goings around there. But, I’m sure it will all work out. Never having been to the Berkshires, it sounds like a great vacation spot…mountains, shops, relaxation. Maybe you can relax on your next visit! ;)

You are a busy girl, but I am so glad you have so much work right now. Scout will understand, she was just saying, “stop taking pictures of those darn flowers and come give me some love!”

Your garden is such a slower pace than the rest of your schedule for sure. At least you get to snap some pictures of the blooms… They open whether or not we notice, but I say it is nice to stop and smell the flowers.
Scout is such a sweetie…I hope that she isn’t too confused by the sitter and Mom and Dad both gone. I know you think about her and worry… Maybe like Elaine suggested…you could take her with you… I’m sure you’ve already looked at that option…I know she went with you one time before. Hope it all works out for you. Have safe travels.

Scout in the door and all the blooming flowers are all there encouraging your success for all of you.It is quite a challenge.Sometimes all we can do is go moment by moment and trust in a bigger picture we may not be clear about. Lovely images. Please keep up your spirits.

Poor Scout. Our 12 year old dalmatian, Charlie, is the same way when we have to leave him, but he seems to understand. Your hostas look wonderful. Nothing says summer like hostas and daylilies. Such a peaceful garden. Wishing you a happy and productive week.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
