Baby Birds and Hummingbirds

August 2, 2025 at 7:56 am by Claudia

Yesterday’s weather was lovely. I did a lot of baby bird watching. At one point, I saw the two babies get up and change places in the nest. It was so sweet. Mom was nearby in the bush.

I managed to snag a good photo of them.

It’s amazing how quickly they’ve grown. I haven’t checked on them yet this morning. Are they still there? Have they fledged?

Later in the day, a hummingbird was dining on the zinnias. I didn’t have my camera with me at the time, but I so enjoyed watching her visit each and every bloom.

She came back later. This time I had the camera. She was dining on the rose of sharon blossoms.

Okay! I’m off to check on the babies.

Update: They fledged while we were away at the grocery store!

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

great photos, and even better that you saw the babies and hummingbird. so sweet! :)

slow start here, but can’t stay that way … i’d much rather get up and get tasks done early so my afternoons and evenings are easier, more enjoyable (and maybe then i will sleep better).

hope everyone has a great weekend. stay safe in every way.

I’m glad your weather was pleasant yesterday after all the extremes. Those birds really do grow up quickly. Hummingbirds are so amazing. I can see them, too, flitting around in the agapanthus in the back yard. You got some great shots. Enjoy your weekend.

How dare they fledge while you were at the store! But oh, what a charming photo you got before they did. And the garden looks lovely. That sweet hummer!

I rarely get a photo of a hummingbird. So I was very happy to get one.

      Stay safe, Jeanie.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
