Blooming

April 14, 2012 at 8:00 am by Claudia

My first week of rehearsal is winding down. It’s been fun – the cast is a great group of talented (and nice) actors. I look forward to the next few weeks of this adventure. The hotel I’m staying in is in the process of upgrading their Wi-Fi, so I had no internet at all this morning. I ended up taking the laptop to the rehearsal studio. Now, I’m home and it’s back up and running.

Blooms are everywhere here in Hartford:

Spring has sprung! I want to explore all the different trees in Bushnell Park while I’m here. This one has such an interesting shape, doesn’t it?

The bottom of the trunk looks almost like toes or feet. It reminds me of those trees in The Wizard of Oz. I was so taken by its wonderful shape.

My knight in shining armor is coming to Hartford tomorrow morning to take me home for 2 days. I get to see my family and check on the garden. We’ve stopped watering the grass seed because its been so dry out east.  I watered so much before I left that I’m worried about our well. If the seed takes, great. If it doesn’t, we’ll reseed again in the fall.

This is one of the perks of my time here in Hartford. I can get home every 10 days or so! I need to give my doggies a smooch (and husband, too!)

So glad to know work is going well Claudia – makes such a difference when the people are pleasant AND talented!

Knowing Don will be taking you home for a little visit over the weekend is good news too……….the four of you will have a snuggly, fun time. Enjoy each precious moment.

Love the second macro image of the wisteria(?) leaves, and that tree does appear to be getting ready to take a walk through the park – love it!

Happy days dear – hugs Mary

Glad you get to go home for a couple of days. How long will you be at this job. Don’t forget to bring some cozy things back with you.
We don’t water either because of the well. I wonder, they must have, grass seed for dry conditions.
Safe travels and have fun with your family.

Claudia, your pictures of Hartford’s blooms are fabulous! While you’re in Hartford you need to get to Elizabeth Park, which is up Asylum Street towards West Hartford. You could walk it but it would be better to hop on a bus. You’ll love the Rose Garden and all that Elizabeth Park has to offer.

That tree looks exactly like the one in the Wizard of Oz! “How would you like someone picking something off of YOU?”

Hartford looks like such a lovely place! I would love to travel through the Northeast someday.

Have a nice break with your family!

Before I read your comment under the tree, that’s exactly what I was thinking – the trees that threw apples in the Wizard of Oz!

Enjoy your weekend home, Claudia!… Donna

Gorgeous blooms and what wonderful photos! We just woke up to snow…..at least the moisture is a blessing. How nice for you to be able to go home and hug the dogs and smooch the hubby……;)

That tree looks like a woman! She has boobs. One arm is doing a fist pump and the other across her abdomen.
(This is kinda like looking and the clouds and calling out what you see.) :-)

I’m glad things are going well with rehearsals, Claudia, and that the people are nice. How lovely that you’re there at such a beautiful time of year; but it must be hard not to be home, too, to watch your own garden “waking up”. I hope you enjoy your days home.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
