Bluebirds of Happiness

November 5, 2025 at 9:06 am by Claudia

Pardon me while I wipe my eyes. I have been crying with joy over yesterday’s election results. I feel hope for the first time in a long time.

We voted in our local election and the results were equally gratifying. After that, we went to a grocery store where I purchased non-perishables for our local food bank and dropped them off at the library collection point.

And then – later in the day – a wee little doll arrived. But I’ll share her with you on Friday.

In the meantime, I grabbed the camera the other day when I noticed bluebirds in the bird bath. They were stopping for a drink on their way south.

I love bluebirds. We don’t really see them around here except for early spring, when they are migrating north, and now, in the fall, when they are migrating south. They’re so beautiful.

Thanks for all your feedback on ads. My ad provider has changed things so I won’t get so many pharmaceutical ads. And the reason I often get 3 of the same kind of ad when I’m on the blog is the ad provider can tell I am the owner/writer of the blog because of the frequency of my visits, so they hold off on showing a variety of ads because I’m not a reader of the blog. That makes sense.

We have had a lot of wind lately and now we’re getting a heavy wind warning from late this afternoon until tomorrow morning. Enough already. I’m praying for the safety of everyone, for trees not to fall, for the power to stay on. Please send positive thoughts.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

I agree, the election results were quite a boost, made me feel more hopeful.

I see the ads down in the corner, but mostly I ignore them, too small to read. I know some have been pharmaceutical ads, some for cars.

We started getting some strong winds earlier and it’s supposed to be raining most of the day.

Love the blue birds! We have blue jays, not as cute!

    Sending positive thoughts!

We have blue jays, too. The bluebirds are just passing through, they’re not hear normally.

      Stay safe, Barrie.

Sending lots of positive thoughts. So happy for the Democratic sweep in the elections yesterday. There is hope now. Can’t wait to meet your little doll. I bet she’s adorable. Stay safe in the wind and rain. We are supposed to get same weather this afternoon. Hugs, Elaine

dear Claudia/Don — so glad to read re Democratic wins in NYC,NJ, VA — do you think Reps will take notice?? especially the orange man?? Yesterday was a good start — hope it continues on to the next voting day. could it be that Reps get the message?? today, we are having very harsh winds but it is warm — next week we should get our 1st taste of winter — not ready for that !! Stay safe/healthy

Oh, they take notice, but they won’t do anything. Just dig their heels in…

Yes, the election results were sure terrific. Hopefully, we can keep this energy going.
We may get some snow flurries this weekend here. I hope the forecast is wrong but I am lucky to have my oldest son who lives with me and loves to shovel! ;)

      Send him my way, Ellen!

I haven’t seen any snow on the horizon, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I am as happy as can be we the results of the election. There is hope in the air! I listen to a couple substacks, my favorite being Jim Acosta. I love the way he has different people on to interview. He always makes me learn new things. I think the only way to get news today is through independent media. At least that is how I feel. There are a lot of good people on Substack. Hope you don’t get too much wind! Take care!

I was so happy to hear the great blue news!! I’ve been so depressed but maybe there is some hope. My family has a trip planned to Houston to see family at Thanksgiving but we are seriously looking at cancelling. The airports are a mess. Long lines and flight delays and frankly I can’t handle all that physically. So disappointed but we will try to reschedule.
Blue Birds made me smile. Thank you!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
