Bunnies & Square #29

March 29, 2010 at 9:28 am by Claudia

Today’s theme? Bunny rabbits. I love little bunny rabbits – we have several of them on the property here at Mockingbird Hill Cottage. I can’t resist them. You met my newest bunny, Mr. Bunn, yesterday. How about some bunny egg cups?

These sweet egg cups are from my collection. I love each and every one of them. I have more to share with you later this week. The book you see – A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton Porter – is a book I loved in my childhood. My grandmother gave me a copy when I was a girl. Several years ago I bought a copy just like the one she gave me which had unfortunately gone missing. Recently, I found this beautiful vintage edition and couldn’t resist. The graphics on the cover are gorgeous.

Back to bunnies. I was in Target recently and found some bunny ears for $1.00. Into the basket they went. Don and I always call Scout’s pink and white ears ‘bunny ears.’ You can see where this is going – I had to put them on Scout.

She doesn’t look too pleased, does she?

Uh oh…there’s that look. Let’s try them on Riley instead.

And I thought it was such a great idea.

Square #29:

D for Don, the love of my life, who’s heart is broken at the loss of his father.

Have a wonderful Monday.

    Dear Claudia & Don,

May peace find it’s way into your heart and home and the love you have for each other and your father blanket every part of your life with it’s comforting warmth.

    Hugs,

How could you do that to those sweet puppies, honey?!?! LOL LOL My first laugh of the morning.

I love your square this morning. Next time there is a “stitch-along” let me know and I’d love to participate. I love embroidering but haven’t done much for several years. I’d love to participate in one of these though.

Hoping your household is getting back to somewhat normal….

    xoxo,
    COnnie

Those bunny ears looked so cute on the dogs, even if they didn’t stay on long. ! :-)
I really like your egg cup collection and can’t wait to see more pics later in the week.

Your egg cups are fabulous, Claudia!!

Your egg cups are just too precious. I love them! Scout does look very pleased. What a sweet dog and a good model too. Poor Don. It’s so hard to loose a parent. I imagine this holiday will be tough for him.

    Love,
    Susan and Bentley

Love your squares Claudia. And I adore your bunnies. I think Scout looks just like the Easter bunny in his ears!!! I think Riley isn’t too keen on the idea.
I think that is so cool that Gene Stratton Porter’s book was one of your faves when you were a girl too. It was one of mine and then I went on to read all the other books by GSP. Another fave of mine by her, was The Magic Garden. I have them all still today. I enjoy rereading them.

    Hello Claudia,

These cups and the bunnies are cute cute cute! I think it would be so much fun drinking from them. Makes the the drink much more special? LOL

I remember you sharing Scout’s pink ears on a PS post. I guess she’s thinking she already have one so she won’t need them anymore :-)Now for Riley, well, boys will be boys.

Have I mentioned, love what your doing with your embroidery project? It is a dream to be able to do this kind of stitch work. What I love most about yours is that every square represented something different in your home and in your life.

    Li

Love your bunny post! Bunny egg cups and doggie-rabbits are just too darn cute! “Girl of the Limberlost” – one of my favorite books of all time! I once happened upon the film a while ago and it was really wonderful too! We visited Gene Stratton-Porter’s homes in Indiana a few years ago and I could feel her presence in her rooms. What an amazing adventure that was!
    Wishing you a fabulous week!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
