I was sitting in our den, crocheting away, when I happened to look out the window and I saw this beauty! Of course, I ran for my camera and the beautiful butterfly willingly posed for several minutes.
If anyone knows what particular kind of butterfly this is, I would be so happy to know. I only know it is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful miracle on a Sunday afternoon.
I’ve been researching, and this seems to be an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. Who knew?

I’m impressed. I’ve been watching butterflies like this in my garden, and they are never still long enough for a photograph.
I’ve always thought of them as Monarchs, but maybe not. Are Monarchs always orange?
