Catching up on Sunday

November 29, 2009 at 10:04 am by Claudia

Hello, my friends. We’ve had a heck of wind storm here – from Friday into late Saturday. I’m glad it is finally over. Continuous, howling wind makes me feel a bit edgy. Plus, there are all the bits of branches I have to clean up in the yard. Today is sunny and calm, thank goodness.

It is also Dog Bath Day – a major undertaking. We have big dogs. The bathtub doesn’t work for these guys…so we have to get in the car, load it with old towels and 2 dogs, and drive several miles to the Dog Wash (part of a Car Wash). It works so much better for us, because there are two washing stations where the dogs can be secured, soap, conditioner, you name it. Then we drive back with 2 wet and squeaky clean dogs. It will take a couple of hours. Next week will be all about swiffering the never-ending dustballs of dog hair that appear after a bath. Ah, the joys of long-haired dogs!

I wanted to share a poster I won at The Beautiful Life. The generous Ruth had a spontaneous giveaway and some of us are now owners of one of these:

Could it be more perfect? I can’t wait to frame this and hang it – either in the office/guest room/music studio or in my little ‘studio.’ Thank you, Ruth!

I’ve been very tardy in acknowledging two awards. The first is from Teresa at Marigold Manor.

And the second is from Heidi at Heart and Home.

Thank you, Teresa and Heidi! I am always so honored to receive an award from a fellow blogger. Both of these awards involved listing things you don’t know about me, but I have done these lists before and simply can’t think of anything else to list! I will pass these along to all my fellow bloggers, with great thanks for being my friends.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

I wish we had a dog wash around here, what a fabulous idea. “The Italian” takes Toby into the shower and what a mess that is.

Love your poster and congrats on your award.

Have a wonderful day sweet friend!

Hi Claudia, I have a golden retriever and know all too well the little puff balls of fur everywhere. He has put on his winter coat now and looks like he gained 10 pounds. I have to dust mop constantly but…lol…we have seriously been thinking about getting another one for his companion. Call me crazy! Happy belated Pink Saturday. xo Lynn Love the dog wash. Wish we had one around here. We have Ben groomed because I just can’t do it at home.

You deserve all the award you receive! You are one of my favorite bloggers. Do the doggies like their baths? My daughter’s golden retrieve loves his bath. He smells so good after his bath.

    Have a wonderful day.

Glad your poster arrived safe & sound! Boy could I use a “dog wash” around here. Well, in a way I have one — the groomer. :)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! :)

Blogging and coffee! Yep, that’s me! My Yorkies don’t shed, thank goodness. The cats make up for it. I take mine to the groomers twice per month. Helps on the shampooing and I like to keep them clipped short. But when I do bathe them, they go into the shower we had built last year and get sprayed down with the hand-held.

Hi, Claudia! What a cute poster! I’m so glad that you won one, and even though I don’t drink coffee, I agree with the other two things! :-)

Sounds like you had your hands full with the pooches, but isn’t it great when they are all clean?

I’m glad that you didn’t have any damage to your house with that storm. They really are scary. Just glad it’s all over now.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
