You all know my husband is an actor. He grew a goatee and longer hair for a movie role and he liked the look. As did I. He decided to keep it but needed an updated headshot to give his agents. A session with a photographer for a new headshot is expensive, so my husband had the idea that I should take his photograph with my new camera. To be honest, I agreed only to humor him. I am not a professional photographer – far from it. I have taken photos that he has used for CD covers, and his website, but a headshot???
We went outside on a Sunday afternoon and I clicked away – taking maybe 12 shots. Much to my surprise, they looked pretty good. But how to crop it so that the people that make reproductions would use it? We looked at one of his older headshots and figured out the dimensions as best we could. I cropped it and crossing our fingers, we sent it off.
They used it.
When we tore open the box of headshots, I couldn’t believe how great they looked! Yes, its a fluke, but I’m proud of the final product. And, of course, of my good looking husband!
