Wintry Dry Skin Relief

February 7, 2014 at 6:54 am by Claudia

I live in upstate New York, where it gets very cold and windy and dry in the winter. And, boy, does my skin suffer for it! I’m always on the lookout for a product that will help my dry, wintry skin.

suave

I’ve recently had the chance to try some of the new products in the Suave Professionals® line, which offers women everywhere access to premium quality products with the finest skincare ingredients, in this case, authentic Moroccan argan oil. The products I tried out are part of Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Body Care, which feature authentic argan oil from Morocco, a lightweight oil rich in nutrients and antioxidants that leaves skin looking silky and radiant and moisturized. I had the chance to try the Moroccan Infusion Body Lotion and the Moroccan Infusion Dry Body Oil Spray.

Here’s how Suave describes these products:

The Body Lotion is a “daily moisturizer that absorbs quickly for up to 24 hours of radiant, non-greasy hydration”  The Dry Body Oil Spray “has a non-greasy formula that absorbs instantly and seals in long-lasting moisture.” They go on to say, “New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Body Care products, clinically proven to moisturize as well as Moroccanoil®†, feature a light, luxurious fragrance and are infused with authentic Moroccan argan oil, a lightweight miracle oil known to be rich in nutrients and antioxidants.”

My thoughts: I really liked both products. The Body Lotion goes on smoothly and is non-greasy, something I really appreciate. My hands felt and looked much better almost immediately. I’ve also started spraying the Dry Body Oil on my legs after a shower and they are really appreciating it! Both products do what they are advertised to do and my skin does indeed look better.

I’ve used products with argan oil before and liked the light, natural scent of the oil. I wear a very light perfume — light enough that the scent of the Suave tends to overpower it. I suspect that many will love this scent though.

†when clinically tested with comparable Moroccanoil® products. Moroccanoil® is a registered trademark of Moroccanoil®.®

Dove Intensive Care Daily Treatment Conditioner Product Review and a Contest

September 4, 2012 at 10:54 am by Claudia

Hair. I don’t know about yours, but mine has its own mind. I have oily hair, but for some reason summertime dries it out. It’s baby fine, so I have to be careful about what conditioner I use. Too heavy a conditioner weighs it down. Not enough conditioner and I get tangles. Add to this the fact that I have two kinds of hair now: my still-brown, baby fine hair and the more wiry gray hair that has sprung up in the last several years. That adds up to a bit of a split-hair personality.

I need a good conditioner.

Enter Dove®. Dove kindly sent me a bottle of their Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner.

Dove has a line of these Advanced Conditioners that includes:

  • Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner
  • Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner
  • Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner
  • Intensive Repair Conditioner
  • Daily Moisture Conditioner
  • Color Repair Conditioner

They all aim to help your hair in its battle with damage, sun, chlorine, humidity, and hereditary damage using their patented technology to repair and nourish dry hair. In the case of my Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner, that technology “penetrates deep inside the hair strand, helping rebind damaged proteins.”

To tell you the truth, I usually slap on some conditioner after shampooing, leave it on my hair for a few minutes, rinse it out and go on with my day. So I thought this new conditioner would probably do the same old thing any conditioner does.

You know I’m always honest with you. I can’t imagine being anything but honest on this blog, especially about a product that I’m reviewing. I have to tell you that, much to my surprise, this conditioner really made a difference in the look and feel of my hair. It’s smooth to the touch. That includes both my gray and brown hair. The frizzies are under control. It’s soft.

It’s true.

I like the handy tube. It’s much easier to pick up in the shower than a bottle. And I love the scent.

Dove has another contest where you can earn a $1000 SpaFinder Gift Certificate. Would you like a SpaFinder Gift Certificate? I would! Here are the rules:

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
