Checking in on Saturday

November 20, 2021 at 10:28 am by Claudia

A quick post today. I’m exhausted from a very busy week full of long days. And we had to get our flu shots this morning.

From last night’s shoot.

I think this is rare in the word of film dialect coaches, but look what I got this week!

I’m hoping they’ll let me take the canvas back piece at the end of the shoot. Wouldn’t that be cool? On the other side is the title of the film: Spoiler Alert.

I’ve chatted with Sally Field (more on that in the future) and she’s simply lovely. And fun!

Something happened this week that was completely unexpected and a total surprise and I wish I could share it with you but I am bound to secrecy. Sorry for the tease, but rest assured; at some point I will tell you the whole story.

And this little one arrived all the way from Spain. She arrived very quickly!

Her name is Olivia. Her nickname will be Livvy. She’s adorable. I adopted her from her owner via a Facebook Blythe group. She was made by VegaDolls (also in Spain) and I fell for her hook, line and sinker. VegaDolls are usually expensive because they have a distinctive look that is absolutely charming  – too expensive for me. Since this was a ‘second-hand adoption,’ I got a deal.

I adore her.

There’s one more coming next week and then that will be it. She’ll arrive when I’m back in the city so I won’t see her for a while. I guess you could say I commissioned her, based on another doll the customizer had done in the past. She’s so, so cute!

But I’ll keep her a secret until I am back home and can open that box!

I’ll tell you, scrolling through Blythe feeds has kept me sane during the filming process. There’s so much time spent waiting. Instagram has kept me going.

I’ll write a more detailed post tomorrow.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

Olivia is a very lucky girl and so are her sisters. Your family certainly has grown in the last few weeks. How does Don feel about having so many girls around him?

If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get the whole chair and not just the back canvas :-)

Happy early birthday, Claudia, and have a wonderful day.

Don loves these dolls. He’s quite taken by them. Also, he’s just so supportive that he embraces the dollhouses, the Blythe dolls – all of it. As I do all his musical instruments!

Thanks so much, Cathy and stay safe!

You know, I don’t have any suggestions. I know nothing about rents in Manhattan or areas to live in. Her best bet is to ask her friends and maybe her colleagues at Norton. She could always rent an Airbnb or something like that on a temporary basis which would give her time to look for a place.

I love your postings from New York! You are giving me the bug to look for Blythe dolls! One of my granbabies is a sassy 8 year old named Olivia (aka Livvy) and can roll her eyes just like your Olivia! 😄. Stay healthy and take good care of yourself Claudia. I wish you health and happiness in your birthday and always!

glad you have a weekend at mhc with don and things that bring comfort, relaxation and help make a house a home. enjoy every minute!

thanks for taking time to post.

i hope you can keep the back-rest from that chair, too … very cool!

hope you and don have no bad reaction to the flu shots. i got mine last monday and had no problem, only felt/feel relief at some protection. hope to get my second shingles shot monday. that may have to delay the botox-in-the-throat shot (also next week) that will hopefully reduce the quake in my voice (other did nothing). i get monthly bone shots and have to space apart some shots, but lose great insurance as of december 01 so am trying to do what i can now (as well as find some cheaper insurance … what i have for another nine days would cost me nearly $1,200 for next month, then raise to nearly $1,600 as of january … ugh and no way).

just had my car oil changed and needed a new battery this morning. not fun or cheap, either, but good to have both done. going to take a hot shower, then spend time with some members of my family. :)

    happy, safe saturday!

Insurance is always a problem, isn’t it? Praying you find a job with good insurance, Kathy – asap!

I didn’t have a reaction to last year’s flu shot, so I don’t think I’ll have one to this year’s.

      Stay safe!

    OOooohhhh, Livvy is sweet!

I hope they let you keep not just the backing but whole chair. That would be an amazing addition to MHC!

Enjoy your weekend and your time with Don. And wishing you a beautiful birthday tomorrow! It’s a big birthday month around here with our grandson, my husband (yesterday) and mine (in 10 days), as well as other relatives and many friends. Popular month!

Livvy is a cutie pie, too. I’m sure your girls are becoming fast friends. Relax today! ;)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
