Chloe & a Big Thank You

May 2, 2010 at 9:27 pm by Claudia

I’d like you to meet Chloe. Chloe accompanied me on my trip to San Diego last year and she has decided to come along for the visit this year. Knowing how much I would miss our dogs, my husband gave her to me last year right before I left MHC for a 6 month stay in San Diego. I miss them so much it hurts. I have a need to cuddle a furry creature and Miss Chloe fits the bill.

Thank you, my dear friends, for all the wonderful comments you left on my previous post. You inspire me and you lovingly push me to take a risk and go for it. How can I not? I have read your comments several times. Like Jodie, I believe that ‘we are the authors of the life we create.’ It is easy to forget that at times. Thankfully, I have all my wonderful friends to remind me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – blogging has introduced me to so many generous, compassionate, caring, talented people.

For those of you who wrote to say that the reason you are drawn to this blog is because it is authentic and real: thank you. When I was working with Amber on the blog redesign a couple of months ago, I emphasized that I didn’t want it to look ‘too slick.’ That was the only way I could think of to express my sincere desire to keep MHC what it has always been: about our cottage, our life, our dogs, my creative endeavors, decorating and gardening. So the fact that you think this blog I write is authentic makes me very happy.

Well, it is Sunday night and I have finished a long, long week of work. The first few weeks of Rep rehearsals are always exhausting. 3 Rep shows are in rehearsal and I am also coaching a 4th production that is moving onstage this week. There are not enough hours in the day. Eventually, I will have more free time…but for now…this girl is tired. I have one day off on Monday and I have several errands to run. On Monday evening many of us will meet to honor the life of my friend Raul who died a few weeks ago. He was a Stage Manager at the theater for many years and a very good friend to both me and my husband.

Have a wonderful Monday.

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! It sounds like you are doing fine way out there in California! I love that your husband gave you that adorable little bear, what a cute face! I’m sure that you are missing everyone at MHC terribly and it’s wonderful to hear how much the support from your blogger friends means to you. I sometimes struggle between posting the real, true me or creating something that I think would be more interesting to the people who stop by my blog. All-in-all I think I’m being true to keeping it real!
Enjoy your day off – I know you’re attending the memorial for your friend but I’m sure you will all be remembering and sharing all the wonderful things about him. Ciao, bella!

Monday already? Well that’s okay since rain is forecast and our lawn is getting a bit crispy from lack of moisture.

Your blog really is lovely and soooo not slick. It’s a feel good place, Claudia. Enjoy your week!!

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog and left a comment so I had to chance to visit your blog. Love the vintage vignettes.

Your blog is full of inspiration- and would fit right in the pages of Artful Blogger.

I’m off to look at some more off your blog.

Good luck tonight for your sad/celebration. Chloe may get some big hugs after the gathering.

Took Louella for her treatment today, so I am sad, also.

Chloe looks like a good stand in for your family. When I am away from mine I always bring my bear. Once on a business trip I forgot to bring my bear and went out to buy another one. I think the two women I was traveling with thought I was a bit looney, but I didn’t care. I really slept better that night in the hotel with my new bear. Hugs to you and Chloe!

    Love,

    Dear Claudia,
sorry that you’re homesick, hope the little bear helps a bit. I always have a bear with me when I have to stay alone- this might sound crazy but I feel cuddled this way! Naturally, my furry baby is always with me, and this helps a lot too!
Glad you kept your blog this simple- I love it and hope you’ll realize that dream of yours.
Sorry if I’ve been such a bad blogger lately, I’m on the mend, both physically and spiritually ;)) so hope I can visit more often.

    Hello Sweet Claudia,
I love your little furry cuddle buddie. I know it’s not the same, but your husband was so sweet to give you a loving gift.
I know it must be hard to be away from home and sometimes life pulls us in so many directions, but we always manage to balance what’s important.
Time will fly by and you will be home soon.

    hugs
    Sissie

Reminds me of the bear made out of a recycled mink coat I was given just before my first surgery for cancer. He is still with with, and I am still here!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
