Hello. Everything – I mean everything – had melted. Then this. There’s at least 3, maybe 4 inches of snow on the ground.
On Wednesday, it’s going to be 70°. What the ????
Nevertheless, I have to go out and shovel. Because it’s Sunday, not Wednesday.
Plus, I need to get this cleaned up before I head into the city around noon. Rick and Doug are going in for a few days, so I’m hitching a ride with them. Don has a day off today, so he can rest the first half of the day and then entertain me for the rest of the day. (Joking.)
I forgot to show you a little something. I brought this home a few days ago.
It’s another Wallace Nutting, this time, with sheep. And you know I love sheep. I don’t often see animals in Nutting’s work and it was on sale, so I had to. Right?
It’s in the original frame and it is now hanging in the office, along with two other Nuttings. When and if I can get a good photo, I’ll share it with you.
Thank you so much for your comments yesterday! I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry. I did. They were lovely and moved me beyond words. Bless you.
Okay, my friends. I have to finish this second cup of coffee, pull on my snow shoveling duds and do some work. More tomorrow from NYC.
Happy Sunday.
Just saw Don on cbs This Morning. Sporting the eye patch , in the back row !
Yes! I’m glad you saw him.
Was looking for him in that segment! And there he was…
(I only infrequently tune in to that show but when I’d seen in the line-up that they were doing a Jimmy Buffett interview, I thought…hmmm…bet it’s about the musical!)
Yes. They’re going to be doing a couple of numbers on one of the morning shows in March. Live, I guess!
Yay! Thanks, Karen!
Sorry about the shoveling but 70 by Weds……WOW!!! Sounds like MO weather. Wanted to tell you I just saw your husband on CBS Sunday morning. Have a wonderful week.
Glad you saw him, Jan!
right (on the nutting sheep print)!
good luck with the shoveling. we have weird weather here, too. am taking advantage of the mild moments (to enjoy being outside) and am grateful for daylight saving time to begin in three weeks.
know you will enjoy the time with friends heading to nyc and especially with don. :)
ready early for church so can hopefully see jimmy and don on cbs this morning.
happy sunday, everyone!
kathy in iowa
Such strange weather!!
You know Margarettaville is being featured on CBS Sunday morning. They have shown a tiny bit this morning. I believe I saw Don! Go to now! So exciting.
Yes, I know. I watched it later in the day as I had to shovel!
They are showing snippets of Margarita Ville on CBS Sunday Morning. I saw Don!! The show looks like so much fun!
It is, Tana. It’s so much fun!
Just caught some glimpses of Don on CBS Sunday Morning! How exciting for you both; Broadway__wow!
It’s a great group of people. They deserve it!
I too saw sunday morning! What fun. Can’t miss Don! That looks like one fun show. I love sunday morning and their uplifting interviews. Somehow didn’t know alot about Jimmy Buffett.
BTW, The new Obama portraits are shown. I saw them earlier this week. Didn’t realize how large they are. I think they are fresh and breathtaking. What exciting artists! Inspiring story about Amy Sherald as well. To survive and finally have your moment.
Our weather is rediculous here in CO as well. Be safe.
The portraits are so distinctive and beautiful. Just like the Obamas!
Also saw Don (and Jimmy) on CBS this morning! Ran to get Husband so he could see “my friend Don”. Why after reading your blog for 9 years do I feel this connection? You are so real and honest in your writing that you reach off the screen to so many of us. Have a happy visit with your Star!
Thank you so much, Dottie!
Yes….we saw Don this morning too, on CBS This Morning. It was a great piece. 70? Wow! We are supposed to get two days of ice…Monday and Tuesday…lucky us. Enjoy your day in the city…how nice you get to hitch a ride! ;)
Much nicer than the bus, Donnamae!
We all feel like we know you and Don! I enjoyed the CBS news show with the coverage of Escape to Margaritaville!
Have safe travel and a good visit!
Thank you, Carolyn!
Ack, I’m the only one on the planet of Mockingbird Hill Cottage to miss the show. I’m happily still in bed reading the blogs and newspaper with a cat who is happily sleeping on top of me. Whoa, wait, I’m on the WEST COAST! Maybe I can catch it…
Nope…missed it. :(
Wendy see my note to you on comments below…
So did I, but I saw it later in the day!
I hope so!
My husband was so excited to see Jimmy on CBS Sunday morning…I was excited to point out “my friend Don”!
My daughter is landing in NYC about now…a week of work installing an art exhibit at the Whitney Museum…she told me its supposed to be 70 on Wednesday….crazy weather this year…East Coast and West Coast!
How exciting for your daughter, Debbie!
Claudia, This has been a crazy weather month. I read your posts I had missed. Congrats on ten years. I remember when I first visited…you reminded of a young person who modeled as bit older because her hair was slightly gray. I love reading about your corner in this world , job , theater work. I have cried over your losses, because I care. Go have some fun with your sweetheart. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Thank you so much, Susie!
Holy Cow! Everybody’s talking about Don’s play……CBS Sunday Morning!
He’s the man of the hour, Nancy!
Hey there, just saw your hubby on CBS this morning. They were interviewing Jimmy Buffett and they showed the cast members. So awesome!
Neat, right?
Fun to see the piece on Margaritaville this morning! And Don surely looked like he was having fun!! So exciting. How have the Previews been going in the first few days?
Have a fun time in the City. We have Ice Storm warnings here for the next 2 days. We haven’t had those in a few years, and we surely haven’t missed them!! Hate the thought of ice! Safe travels.
He is having fun, thought the cast is pretty darn tired!
Sorry about the 3-4 inches. We only received a coating and the sun melted most of it. Have a good time in NYC. Look forward to your blog from the city.
Marilyn
Thank you, Marilyn!
I hope you are in NY and enjoying some time with Don. I’m watching Sunday Morning which I recorded and then I’m going to listen to my new Cast Recording which arrived today! It’s a lovely day here but rain is coming soon!
Forgot to say I love the new painting. Perfect for you and your collection.
Thanks, Linda!
Hey, I preordered mine and you got yours before me????
I pre-ordered from Amazon and they sent it super quick. Love it!!
So did I. And I preordered before you! So where is mine? Don’t they know my husband is in the show??
I told my son the day before yesterday that every time all of the show melts we get more to replace it!…and here we are again with about 5-6″ …lol…we are also headed for the 70’s this week…have fun on your trip to the city with Rick and Doug!
Exactly. Let’s hope that when it melts this week, we get a little breathing space before the next snow!
Wendy..you can see it online at cbs news live…scroll down to CBS Sunday Morning..click on “calender week of Feb 19….then scroll down and click on Jimmy Buffett comes to Broadway…hope this helps!
Thanks, Nancy Blue Moon! I was able to see it with your very clear instructions. Once again, I love the world of Mockingbird Hill Cottage with its wonderful readers.
Don looks in his element, both as being on stage as well as in that role, Claudia!
He is, Wendy!
Congratulations on ten years Claudia! No small achievement. We saw Don too. I didn’t know Buffet enough to recognize him, but I recognized Don! LOL!
Thanks so much, Jacqueline!
Claudia, 2 weeks ago husband and I went to a large antique mall in Bay City, and I saw the
exact sheep print! I was sure it was a Nutting, I have 2 small ones, but it was not signed and
so I hesitated to purchase it. Do you think some of his works are not signed? I know some
pottery pieces are not, even though you can tell the maker. I’m a bit disappointed I didn’t
make the plunge since it was very reasonable, but….wah. I love it though, the soft pinks,
the lambs, just beautiful. Maybe another trip North coming up. Looks like you’re having a
good time in NYC. I’ve never been but would love the experience some time. Take care. Penny
They were signed by his staff, I think – those who did the tinting. So, I’m sure there are some that are unsigned. In face, I think there are few that this dealer I buy from has that are unsigned.
Thanks Claudia. I do love his work but it’s usually out of my budget. I know you are from Michigan and most of us are under water. It looks like a river running down our country road.
The rain is getting on my last nerve, but some people have it worse. Take care. Penny
I’m so sorry about the endless rain and flooding that is hitting the Midwest. Take care, Penny.
