Crazy February

February 18, 2018 at 8:48 am by Claudia

Hello. Everything – I mean everything – had melted. Then this. There’s at least 3, maybe 4 inches of snow on the ground.

On Wednesday, it’s going to be 70°. What the ????

Nevertheless, I have to go out and shovel. Because it’s Sunday, not Wednesday.

Plus, I need to get this cleaned up before I head into the city around noon. Rick and Doug are going in for a few days, so I’m hitching a ride with them. Don has a day off today, so he can rest the first half of the day and then entertain me for the rest of the day. (Joking.)

I forgot to show you a little something. I brought this home a few days ago.

It’s another Wallace Nutting, this time, with sheep. And you know I love sheep. I don’t often see animals in Nutting’s work and it was on sale, so I had to. Right?

It’s in the original frame and it is now hanging in the office, along with two other Nuttings. When and if I can get a good photo, I’ll share it with you.

Thank you so much for your comments yesterday! I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry. I did. They were lovely and moved me beyond words. Bless you.

Okay, my friends. I have to finish this second cup of coffee, pull on my snow shoveling duds and do some work. More tomorrow from NYC.

Happy Sunday.

Was looking for him in that segment! And there he was…

(I only infrequently tune in to that show but when I’d seen in the line-up that they were doing a Jimmy Buffett interview, I thought…hmmm…bet it’s about the musical!)

good luck with the shoveling. we have weird weather here, too. am taking advantage of the mild moments (to enjoy being outside) and am grateful for daylight saving time to begin in three weeks.

know you will enjoy the time with friends heading to nyc and especially with don. :)

ready early for church so can hopefully see jimmy and don on cbs this morning.

    happy sunday, everyone!

I too saw sunday morning! What fun. Can’t miss Don! That looks like one fun show. I love sunday morning and their uplifting interviews. Somehow didn’t know alot about Jimmy Buffett.

BTW, The new Obama portraits are shown. I saw them earlier this week. Didn’t realize how large they are. I think they are fresh and breathtaking. What exciting artists! Inspiring story about Amy Sherald as well. To survive and finally have your moment.

Our weather is rediculous here in CO as well. Be safe.

Claudia, This has been a crazy weather month. I read your posts I had missed. Congrats on ten years. I remember when I first visited…you reminded of a young person who modeled as bit older because her hair was slightly gray. I love reading about your corner in this world , job , theater work. I have cried over your losses, because I care. Go have some fun with your sweetheart. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Claudia, 2 weeks ago husband and I went to a large antique mall in Bay City, and I saw the
exact sheep print! I was sure it was a Nutting, I have 2 small ones, but it was not signed and
so I hesitated to purchase it. Do you think some of his works are not signed? I know some
pottery pieces are not, even though you can tell the maker. I’m a bit disappointed I didn’t
make the plunge since it was very reasonable, but….wah. I love it though, the soft pinks,
the lambs, just beautiful. Maybe another trip North coming up. Looks like you’re having a
good time in NYC. I’ve never been but would love the experience some time. Take care. Penny

They were signed by his staff, I think – those who did the tinting. So, I’m sure there are some that are unsigned. In face, I think there are few that this dealer I buy from has that are unsigned.

Thanks Claudia. I do love his work but it’s usually out of my budget. I know you are from Michigan and most of us are under water. It looks like a river running down our country road.
The rain is getting on my last nerve, but some people have it worse. Take care. Penny

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
