Day Three Hundred Eighty

March 28, 2021 at 10:30 am by Claudia

Heavens, was this one fun! I really loved working on it. There’s so much activity going on, so many wonderful characters. I was sad to see it end.

I’ve ordered another one, as this next week’s temperatures are going to be on the cold side so that means no work outside. But it doesn’t arrive until tomorrow, so I’m starting another one – a botanical chart – that I already had in my puzzle stash.

It’s very, very rainy today with – yes, you’ve guessed it – high winds developing later in the day and tomorrow.

Do you hear that? That was me, screaming.

Thankfully, we have a roof over our heads and lots of activities to keep us entertained. There are also, of course, chores – like washing the sheets, vacuuming, swiffering, watering the plants, etc.

The daffodils are getting ready to bloom and I hope the cold snap doesn’t mess with them. More day lilies and other plants are starting to show themselves. But I’m not clearing the leaf cover from the beds for at least a couple of weeks, if not longer.

Soon, but not yet.

Stay safe.

Happy Sunday.

    a fun puzzle, for sure!

and i found myself in it … smiling in the water under “july” and the second “r” in the title. and feeling like the guy who’s about to be run over by the hand-holding “red rover” group heading to the water for the lack of much social distancing at work, etc. also i am now wishing i had an ice cream cone at 9:45 on a sunday morning. :)

glad you have another puzzle to enjoy and soon … gardening!

in the meantime, good luck with the rain and wind.

    taking it easy here.

    happy palm sunday!

    stay safe!

Oh, I’m sure that puzzle was loads of fun. Love all those colors, and all that activity.

You’d certainly be screaming if you lived here today, too. It’s bright and sunny,,,,but very strong winds. You know they are strong, when you can see leafless trees swaying with the wind.

I know it’s too early to clean the leaves in the garden,,,,but it’s so tempting. I do have a couple of plants that I can prune…so that should keep me satisfied for a bit. Glad to hear about the daffodils…I’m sure they’ll be fine.

    Enjoy your day….happy puzzling! ;)

That’s a great puzzle! I received my 2nd vaccine yesterday. I expected to feel lousy but I don’t. My arm is very sore but that is about it. It was 80 degrees yesterday. This morning is the first time we did not need the heater on. My daughter built her planter boxes. She is very excited to plant her garden. Last year she planted only tomatoes. This year she feels more confident to plant more vegetables. My husband was the gardener in our family. He had a garden every year since he was 18 years old. He always planted enough to feed the neighbors and then some. I miss him. Have a great day!

This one looks like great fun to put together — it’s a pretty wonderful puzzle!

We’ve had rainy/cool gloom but the mini-daffs are up and the big ones well budded. No snow predicted for the next week at least and every day is one day closer to spring — real spring weather, that is!

Have a wonderful relaxing weekend, maybe more fun than laundry! For me, it’s a paintbrush today, I think!

      Stay safe, Jeanie.

That’s a fun puzzle. It looks just like a Lake Michigan beach on the 4th of July.
It is cold here, and was actually spitting some snow earlier. Ugh! Let’s be done with that.
I love daffodils. I used to have daffodils and tulips but they have all dissappeared. I don’t know why. Maybe something ate the bulbs? I’ve been thinking about planting some daffodils in a pot. I’m not sure how well they would do though.
    Happy Palm Sunday!

Looks like Coney Island here in the NYC area! I bet it’s modeled after it.

Rainy and chilly here too today. But I see some tiny buds on some of the trees and little spots of green where the wood violets grow. Spring seems even more hopeful this year, or perhaps I’m just really needing some color. Got my second shot yesterday and the nurse reminded me that side effects could be worse this time. So far, my arm hurts, but that’s it. The day after the first one, I felt like I was coming down with the flu. Guess I’m one of the lucky ones. It’s great that you and Don have a plan to celebrate your second round. It will feel great to be in a bookstore again.

That is a wonderful puzzle! I especially liked the blue bathing suit! Too bad you didn’t have a dozen similar in your stash to pull you through the past year!

    Take care,
    Kelly

Oh, I did about 8 puzzles last year and I’ve done more than that this year. I’ve had plenty of puzzles to see me through!
Just search for ‘jigsaw puzzles’ and you’ll see how many I’ve completed.

That is such a fun puzzle! It really makes me smile. Oh the weather…ugh. High winds and loads of rain, tornadoes all around but so far we are safe. Unsettling. Still I’m blessed to have a good roof over my head also. Hugs!

Crazy windy here today, with the promise of more of the same in the next few days. Gusts from 30-50 mph. It gets old really fast!! Supposed to be 64* tomorrow and then high of 39* on Wed. Spring is always a disappointment until it settles down, around May 15 or so!! After the rain we had yesterday, the grass is noticeably greener today, and that makes me happy.

That puzzle makes me smile, too. At first glance, my thoughts immediately went to: where are their masks?? Sign of the times. As of Friday, we are 2 weeks post 2nd shots. It is a wonderful feeling. Still wearing a mask IF we go anywhere, which really doesn’t seem to be anything I need right now. Still a little hesitant. I will be happy when all of the Spring Break nonsense calms down and see what/ where the spikes are. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

I hope you had a lovely Sunday, and were able to overcome the winds. It is so exhausting. Take care.

Crazy windy here, too. We go down into the twenties at night at least twice this week. The weather is all over the place but that’s the norm for this time of year.

Once we reach the two week mark, we’ll take a short trip or two, but like you, we’ll be masked and we won’t do it very often!

      Stay safe, Chris.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
