Day Three Hundred Sixty-One

March 9, 2021 at 10:36 am by Claudia

It’s sunny and the high is going to be 57 degrees.

I’ll take it.

Today is grocery pick-up day, so I’m posting a bit late as we had to get our list together. We managed to grab a slot on the same day which is fortunate as our cupboards are bare.

I’m not one to post all that many pictures of myself – I’m not a selfie person. But this one was taken by Don yesterday after our successful haircut. I did the initial cut and then Don came in and evened it out. I took about 2 inches off. I could have done more, but the end result was so good I didn’t want to mess with it.

No makeup except for a dash of lipstick.

With baby fine hair, anything too long starts looking scraggly and uneven, so getting a nice blunt cut looks so much healthier.

I actually got an enormous amount of stuff done yesterday, including this haircut. It was one of those days where I was checking off part of my To Do list and it felt good. Still much more to be done – the list is one that includes all those tasks that aren’t imperative at any given moment but must be dealt with eventually.

Don sent me this. He took it from the stairway and I had no idea he was taking it.

I’m wearing my cross-back apron that I picked up for a song at World Market. I’m not one for aprons as a rule, but I thought having one for working with paints and glue, etc., would be a smart idea. Unlike the cross-back aprons made with linen being sold by various Instagrammers that cost $80 to $100, this was $20. I’m not spending that much on an apron!

Don, being the sweetheart that he is, told me it’s his favorite picture.

My sister texted me to tell me she was getting her first vaccination yesterday. I was so relieved to hear that as Meredith has been working with patients and families, some of whom have contracted COVID, since the beginning of this pandemic. She’s never stopped. Knowing she’s on the path to being fully vaccinated makes me very, very happy.

I plan to get outside for a bit today! I have to take advantage of this weather while I can.

Stay safe.

Happy Tuesday.

    Great job on the haircut!
I’m so glad to hear Meredith is able to get vaccinated. I enjoy her blog too. Heard yesterday the CDC says we can meet with other fully vaccinated people without masks. There is hope we will get back to some kind of normal someday.
BTW, I fell asleep last night thinking about what I would put into a miniature yarn shop! I just have to find the right house.
    Happy spring!

You look great! My daughter cuts my hair. She does her husbands and my grandsons as well. I also have fine hair so I keep it a short bob. Glad to hear your sister is getting her first dose. Have a great day!

Don got out for a ride – to get the groceries. We’ll probably take a ride tomorrow or Thursday.

      Stay safe, Nora.

you look great and you and don did well on the haircut!

am sure you all are relieved for your sister to get her first vaccination. i am relieved for her and you!

the new post-vaccination guidelines from the cdc made me cry … happy, hopeful tears this time … though i’ve read a couple places where they said something about these guidelines last only three months post-vaccination. have you heard from a reliable source how long these shots are to last?

congrats on getting lots of things done yesterday. feels good, doesn’t it?

i have lots to do, some of it still on hold because of my back. and some of it self-imposed by a fabric-buying splurge that i am blaming on spring fever. and covid. can i put all my indulgences on covid?!?

i wouldn’t pay $100 for an apron, either! i have very fond memories of painting and making things as a child, wearing one of my father’s t-shirts or old dress shirts as an apron, my mother helping roll up the sleeves. :)

we’ve had some lovely weather lately so i found a pretty flat place and went for some walks. not fast and not without pain, but it felt better than i thought … and helped my stress level and mood. :) planning to walk outdoors every chance i get.

hope the grocery shopping went well, you have a good day and stay safe.

I don’t know how long they last, but I’ve heard that we’ll need boosters at some point, whether for the initial shot or for variants, I’m not sure.

Yes, by all means, blame your indulgences on Covid!

      Stay safe, Kathy.

Isn’t it beautiful today? I got up early and returned a load of cans and bottles to the bottle return and did shopping too. Then still sanitizing groceries. Finally alook at online. A long walk is due later today — it’s so beautiful. And more cleaning out. Even though I am being very careful, it feels very liberating to know my two weeks are past. You’ll see. It makes a huge mental difference. And the good news on the CDC guidelines was another plus, so I can actually spend time with other vaxxed people. I’m thrilled Mere was able to get scheduled.

I can see why that’s Don’s favorite photo. It’s so you — concentrating, at work. And the hair looks great! That’s a good feeling too. I love it when all’s well!

I walked around the property and Don took a proper walk down to the river. It’s beautiful.

      Thanks, Jeanie.

The haircut looks great! Good job ~ you make a great team in all endeavors.

We just got back from taking a drive. It is 64* here. Quite lovely. Very little snow remains. Supposed to be a rainy day tomorrow into Thurs and then the temps go back into the 40’s for the weekend. But that is certainly fine, as we know what it could be at this time of year.

Have a great remainder of your day. Take care.

      hej, brendab.

it sounds like everything is set and you are ready. that’s good. your easy-going attitude must help with that … and it is impressive (especially for having moved often).

i will pray for safe travels for everyone and quick unpacking. best wishes!

Have been so busy…just read online Texas and other states not mandating masks anymore and bloggers are celebrating. Has this nation gone mad? Why not get rid of seat belts too?.. I am not able to understand at all…just when we have hope with a vaccine…

Your haircut was wonderfully done Claudia. It has been almost a year since I last had my hair cut. I used to wear it super short….spiked up and now it is down to the nape of my neck. Quite the difference. I will just keep letting it grow until I finally get vaccinated and then decide what to do with it. Thanks as always for sharing a bit of your world with all of us.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
