Yesterday was about snow blowing and shoveling and this morning was about more shoveling. All done by my hero, Don Sparks. We have over 2 feet of snow on the ground since we already had at least two inches in place before the storm came in. More snow on Sunday or Monday, but not a lot, thank goodness. March is supposed to be the month that comes in a like a lion, but let me tell you, February wins the lion competition this year.
So there’s not much to report, except….SNOW.
It’s rather a mess in the studio. I did some straightening up the other day, but, let’s face it, it’s still a mess. But a creative mess! In the next few days I’ll start in on the floor for the bathroom. I’m still not quite sure what I’m going to do with it, which is why I’ve been holding off.
I started another puzzle yesterday, one that was sent to me last year by a reader of the blog. It’s the kind that has a theme and shows book covers in a grid. This theme is children’s books. It’s quite lovely and I’m having fun with it.
I slept better last night (I slept very little the night before last) so I feel ready to tackle a day full of cleaning and watering plants and cleaning Stella. I clean Stella’s surface every night, but she really needs a deep cleaning, heck, she deserves a deep cleaning. And that’s what I’m going to do today, along with reading and puzzling and spending time with my husband.
Hope you don’t mind, but I never had a chance to get to the comments yesterday; I was too sleep deprived.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.

The studio looks just fine, Claudia. We have had even more snow over the past few days but nothing comparable with your downfall. Fortunately it’s raining again today so it’s clearing up.
I have started a new puzzle. It’s a reproduction world map of the British Empire circa 1900 ( so politically incorrect by today’s standards) and my goodness is it difficult. It’s in a cylindrical tin, the reference picture is small so I keep needing my reading glasses and what’s more it has Australia and New Zealand on both ends of the map.
In other news I am going for my first covid vaccination this evening at the Civic Hall in my village. There’s a Rota system and the NHS seem to be ahead of schedule as they have moved down into the 65 to 69 age group this week. Fortunately I was 65 last month.
Also you may have heard that Captain Tom Moore, the 100 year old gentleman who raised millions for the NHS sadly died of Covid yesterday. He was unable to receive the vaccine as he was being treated for pneumonia. Tonight the Nation has been asked to stand at their front door at 6:00pm and clap for him.
Stay safe
Barbara says
Dee+Dee, that was heartbreaking news about Captain Tom Moore. What a remarkable man. We have an 86 year old friend in Beckenham, Kent who has now had both Covid jabs. The NHS seems to be doing a good job. Stay safe . Barbara
Dee+Dee says
Thanks, Barbara. Yes, he was a true inspiration and kept people’s spirits up. Hope you stay safe too x
Claudia says
Yes, what a great gentleman he was. Very sad.
Congrats on the vaccine. As I’ve said before, nothing here yet and we’re 68 and 69. Ah well.
Stay safe, Dee Dee.

glad you slept better.
and no worries about not commenting!
hopefully the snow’s stopped for a good long while and you and don can rest, keep warm inside, work on puzzles, books, music and apple pie.
i don’t see a mess. all those happy colors, creative supplies and works in progress are beautiful and inspiring to me!
we are to get a mix of rain, ice and snow tomorrow, starting mid-morning and through the afternoon … right when food boxes are to be delivered (thankfully i’ve been getting some help with that … i sure don’t lift a 25-pound box anymore, let alone thirty or more boxes). i am physically and emotionally ready for spring!!!
hope you and don and everyone else here are well, safe.

Yes, I only wish my workroom was as “messy” as Claudia’s!

Stay safe, Denise.

Yes, we are ready for Spring, too. Unfortunately…it is a long way off!
Stay safe, Kathy.

Being creative can definitely be messy at times. I don’t have a studio, just a messy house!
I just framed my Christmas gift puzzle, which is pictures of my 3 granddaughters. It turned out really nice. I just have to decide where to hang it.
I am scheduled for my 2nd covid vaccine on Feb 17. That was my week of jury duty, if you recall. I heard from them today and have been rescheduled for April.
So, that problem solved.
I hope you two have gotten mostly dug out from under all that snow.
Stay safe
Claudia says
Glad the jury duty worked out, Marilyn!
Stay safe.

I’ve enjoyed your snow photos; to a non-snow person like me in SoCalif, it all looks both beautiful and intimidating. (We DO have a powdery ‘dusting’ of snow in our far backcountry at the moment, even visible from the beach, but it’s never anything close up unless you make specific plans to try to get to it with several hours of driving.) I understand snow blowing and shoveling is hard work!
Claudia says
Very hard. Our snow blower is so heavy and awkward I can’t maneuver it. Don is the only one who can handle it.
Stay safe, Vicki.

Glad you are sleeping…I have second Covid next Monday…hoping for decent weather. My friends across the nation-esp in WV are trying to get the shot while others are going ahead-those who work…alas…take care and prayers for today for you and your Don.
Claudia says
Nothing for us yet.
Stay safe, Brenda.

Funny…I don’t see a mess…I see an active creative space. The snow seems never ending these days. Just about the time you get one storm cleaned up, here comes another one right on its’ heels.
Glad to hear you slept better last night. A good nights sleep does wonders for one’s mental attitude I believe. We got a notification yesterday, that we could sign up for a vaccine appointments…yay! However, before I could do that, I had to change my password to my account because someone had tried to hack my health account. They did not succeed. Who does that?
Hope you and Don can rest up and have a relaxing day…after your Stella cleaning that is! Stay safe! ;)
Claudia says
Oh my goodness. Who would do that?
Stay safe, Donna.

My art room is a mess but I create and then clean and then make another mess. So I guess its the process. I slept well last night also so I know how you feel better able to tackle the day. Have a good one! Hugs!
Claudia says
I don’t do well on too little sleep so I was very relieved to catch up on my lost sleep.
Stay safe, Linda.

It sounds like a good day to be in! I took a look at my desk today (in a frantic hunt for valentine making supplies) and realized what a mess it is. I’ve been working mostly on the dining room table — this is fine. But it might be time to move into the office again.
Have a terrific day. Happy puzzling.
Claudia says
Thank you, Jeanie.
Stay safe!
