Day Two Hundred Forty-Seven

November 15, 2020 at 9:10 am by Claudia

No more leaves on the burning bush, but there are lots of berries for the birds.

I’m crossing my fingers at the moment as we had a frost last night and I’m hoping my porch plants are still hanging in there. They may not be. Truth be told, if it’s time for them to move on, so be it. I’m a bit under the weather with sinus problems so I don’t have a whole lot of energy to care and it is  mid-November, after all.

Sinus = feels like a cold, but isn’t.

So this post will be on the short side.

Tomorrow, the dumpster arrives and we’ll start in on the shed on Tuesday. What a job that will be! But so satisfying in the end.

Stay safe.

Happy Sunday.

Dear Claudia, I hope you feel better and that you enjoy your dumpster day tomorrow. Personally, I love those kind of chores. I had to do some firebush/bourganvilla clean-up this week after our big wind/rain storm, and I thought of you and your maple tree. In my case, I’m hoping that it will fill in after a few months. This is Florida and the growing never stops. We’re getting ready for a quarantine Thanksgiving. We’ll be sharing food via shopping bags delivered to our family members at their homes. Our vegetarian Thanksgiving tradition is homemade spinach gnocchi with homegrown pesto. Some things are non-negotiable.

I hope you feel better soon. The weather changes affect my sinuses.
The shed cleanout sounds like a big undertaking if you need a dumpster. I enjoy getting rid of things…feels freeing. Too much stuff feels like a weight.
    Take care

Sinus yuck is never pleasant, but especially when you are about to tackle a large project.
I myself rather like the sort and pitch projects. Lots of nostalgia, reminiscing, some tears, tenderness, laughter, and then the inevitable, ” why in the world did we ever hand onto this?” A good pitch and sort can be cathartic.
As you know Claudia, I have done that these last 2 years. An entire household! And now thanks to you , I just realized that I never did my shed! Now is the time to do it I suppose. All the creepy crawlys are hibernating (spiders).
    Best of luck!

I hope you are feeling better soon Claudia. Sinus issues are not fun. I have them often I’m afraid. Getting the dumpster and cleaning out will feel so good. Rest up.

Thanks for the recommendation on “Social Dilemma.” Everyone should watch it. I knew we were being tracked but not how much we are fed. It explains some of our crazy politics.

I live with daily sinus heads. I feel your pain, literally. Hang in there. Hopefully it will ease by tomorrow.

    Claudia,

Hope your sinuses feel better soon. Purging the shed will not be a walk in the park, but you’ll feel so cleansed afterwards. How long will you have the dumpster?

    Claudia,
Hope you are feeling better soon. Filling the dumpster should feel so good, I really feel better when I accomplish something and with all that has gone on in 2020, I find it hard to get motivated.
I probably shouldn’t say this, but since “orange man” (to use your words!”) got elected, I was diagnosed with cancer that January and have had highs and lows since. Four years is enough, I just want him out, out of office and out of my life.
    Can we celebrate in January?

Hope your sinuses clear up soon, Claudia. Rest today and tomorrow if you can in readiness for sorting out the shed on Tuesday. It’s so tempting when clearing out to get side tracked into reminiscing about stuff but if I always think if I haven’t used or even thought about something in the past few years, it’s time to donate, sell or just get rid of it. Good luck!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
