Dining Out With Birds

June 16, 2009 at 11:49 pm by Claudia

As I was walking down the back road to the theater the other day (that is the rear of the outdoor Festival Stage at the end of the road – see the stage lights?), I came upon this:

These hang outside the rear of the Art Museum. I’ve seen hummingbirds and other little birds dining there. Look closely. How many bird feeders do you count?

How many??? My eyes crossed and I love count. There are a lot. But you know, it’s like the each have to have their own, because they will fight and chase one another off. I used to have four on my front porch and loved to watch them, they are amazing little creatures, like little mini helicopters that will literally buzz right up to your nose almost. Great photo!!!

I am just wondering who keeps all those feeders filled with boiled sugar water!?
I have 7 hummy feeders and I am cooking for them all the time.
That many would be a full time job!!!

Oh lordy, I have a hard enough time making and changing the sugar water four our four feeders several times a week! I can’t even imagine changing the sugar water in all of those constantly! …. Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
