Discombobulated

December 8, 2016 at 9:40 am by Claudia

Too much to do in too little time.

That’s the ‘status’ of my life right now.

This morning, I scrambled to find a photo or two to post, while trying to find jeans for my husband (online) that will fit his Big & Tall, almost 6′ 5″ body. The Levis site was hard to navigate, even after Don had done most of the work!

I keep thinking that Christmas is a week earlier than it is, because I’m leaving for Hartford and will not be able to do any shopping or prep that week.

Basically, I’m running around with lists in my head; Christmas gifts, Christmas prep, what to pack, what to buy to take with me to Hartford, things I have to do around here before I leave, and the ongoing script research and preparation that I’m doing daily

I’m feeling discombobulated (one of my favorite words.)

I posted this photo on Instagram yesterday. I finally found an 8 x 8 frame for this favorite photo of Scoutie wearing my glasses. It’s sitting on the desk by the stairs.

First Christmas without her. Sigh.

Today: Act 4 of The Comedy of Errors. Tomorrow: Act 5. Then I’ll be finished with my initial prep, but I’ll take another spin through the text to check for anything I’ve missed and then I should be good to go.

That’s all I can give you today, friends. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night and slept a bit later than usual today, so I’ve got to get going.

Happy Thursday.

Love that picture of Scout in your glasses – wonderful! I think this time of year is crazy for just about everyone in one way or another. Good luck with all you have going on Claudia!

I will sometime, Julie, but most likely not until I’m in Hartford. I’ve written about it before, but it’s been a while!

Discombobulated is the perfect word for my brain today! Trying to get ready for company, trying to think of gifts for grown up kids who have everything, trying to finish up a yard to contain the GrandBooBoos for their visit…and worrying whether my bought-online presents will make it here on time. Oh, and decorating the tree. Better hurry up!

I just love that photo of Scout. Such personality in that girl.

She sure had personality, Shanna. I’ve never met a dog like her. She was magical.

That is a cool word! And perfectly describes how I’m feeling lately. I’m hoping to not go anywhere today…and catch up on things. Too much to do…too little time to do it in! Adorable pic of Scoutie…precious! Hoping you get some more items checked off those lists of yours! ;)

Today I decided to run errands and hold off on Act 4, which I can do anytime! And tonight we have our first meeting with the local Democratic Committee. We’re determined to do as much as we can!

Too much going on and running through your mind. I hope you can sleep better tonight. I love that photo of Scout. I know I’m really missing Charlie sleeping under the Christmas tree.

Oh, I am missing Scout, Linda. She wasn’t herself last Christmas, slept through most of the morning – but she was here. And now? No dogs. I can’t go there! much love.

What a great photo of the “grandest of dames”! Her smile was the BEST!!!

I “feel your pain” trying to find suitable and affordable trousers for the long legged menfolk!!! I’ve tried convincing my gentle giant that capris are in fashion for males, but he will not have any of that! My challenge involves finding pants that are not too long for me…perhaps we are the perfect match–I could always buy pants too long for me, slice off the excess and sew onto his? Haha Might as well joke and laugh at our vertical challenges, as crying surely won’t help.

She was the best girl, Jeannine! Oh, how I miss her!

Yes, these guys who are so tall and long-legged! I love that Don’s so tall, but he has a problem with jeans! Plus, he likes the ‘shrink-to-fit’ jeans, which is a whole other conundrum!

OMG, that photo is the cutest! Glad you have it out now where it can make you smile. Keeping this short because you’re too busy [in other words – no need to reply]. Just wanted to say hi. Have a very productive Thurs & Friday! 🎄

Semi-productive, Janet. But that’s okay. I’m home now, eating some lunch. We have a Democratic Committee meeting tonight – our first – so that should be interesting!

That’s awesome, Claudia. So glad you’re doing the local politics thing. Needed now MORE THAN EVER. And putting the proverbial $$ – or in this case time & energy – where your mouth is – I have boundless respect for this. Have fun & hope you post about it too. 🇺🇸

Discombobulated was one of my Mom’s favorite words too :-) Scout’s photo looks good in the new frame. I love your McCoy lamp by the way!

Thanks, Susan, but it’s not McCoy. It just looks like it could be! I got it at the Country Living Fair a few years back.

When I saw the title of today’s post, I smiled. It is one of my most favorite, and frequently used words!! I am discombobulated most days. I live in an everyday state of discombobulation.

Love the pic of sweet Scout. She looks so wise!!

Can’t wait to hear how the meeting you attended tonight went. So much work to do ahead!!

It went well. We all shared our feelings when we heard the election results and shared what we thought we needed to do. We’re all VERY motivated, at the local, state, and federal level! Vive la Resistance!

Hi. I get my husband’s Levi’s at Kohl’s or on Amazon.
    Good luck.
I love your white Christmas tree. Very pretty.

Can’t find his pant length at Kohl’s, Monica! He has to get a longer length and then extra so that it shrinks to fit.

I ordered through Levis and they’re on the way!

Hi Claudia, it might have something to do with our age bracket and the twists and turns throughout life that not only lets us enjoy simplifying our lives and homes it really cuts back the “to-do” list and makes cleaning the house a lot easier. My actual thoughts were more or less about not wanting my house to look like it was taken over by the over zealous decorating elves. And I love your tree! It has a lot of character! Enjoy this entire Christmas season!

Thank you so much, Kelly! I really like it simple. It makes me smile and I don’t feel like I’m adding lots of clutter to the already-small cottage.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
