I felt under the weather yesterday and didn’t have a whole lot of energy. (Allergies/sinus.) So I distracted myself with this:
This suitcase full of clothes was a mess. Full to the brim. I had to dive into the piles of clothes to find anything. Fortunately, Don heard me complaining the other day, freed up another one of his ‘art’ suitcases since he really wasn’t using it, and passed it on to me. We found these suitcases at a local antique shop several years ago. They came from the estate of a man who bought them and decorated them with stickers and beautiful paper. They’re very lightweight and decorative – not meant for traveling.
I sorted everything in piles; dresses, coats, socks, tights, pants, overalls, etc.
Much better!
Of course, I did no work at all on dialects or my tax deductions. Today, however, is a different story and I’ll start in on Yorkshire and Dublin later today. Actually, I’ve already started working on both of the dialects, but just a first pass a couple of weeks ago.
Not quite ready for the tax stuff yet.
Meredith is still very tired, but she’s feeling better.
Stay safe.
Happy Tuesday.

Those suitcases are fabulous. What a good “down in the dumps” project to lift the spirit!

So happy to hear that Meredith is feeling well. Hope you feel better today too.
I have a task that I don’t want to tackle and it keeps hitting my list but then I do everything else but that one item. I’ve decided it’s just going to get more stressful if I don’t attend to it, so now it’s at the top as a priority, whether I want to or not. I know I’ll feel great once it’s done! Hope you’re able to finish off your tax stuff and get it off your list too.
I’m so intrigued by the Blythe dolls and started looking at them on Etsy and IG. They vary so much in price. How do you know you’re getting a true Blythe or is it by chance? Sorry if it’s a silly question. Some are incredibly expensive and some are super affordable but not sure what the difference is other than maybe the creative touches. Love your collection. Your girls are so lucky to have found their home with you and Don.
Hope this week is a great one for you!

I’ll write a post about it soon. I’m pretty tired at the moment from doing research. There are a lot of things to know when searching for a Blythe – things I had to find out by asking people and by trial and error. I promise more info soon.
Stay safe, Chy.

Oh! That would be amazing. But no rush at all. You have many things on your plate to tackle first. Be well!

Those suitcases are great! And all the clothes! Excellent pastime-dolls. It has been too hot to do much, but today is wonderful! No humidity and temps in the 70º’s. I just realized I get brain fog too. Just didn’t have a name for it, then I realized it is what many ladies talk about when the temps get too high. Thinking takes a holiday!!
Claudia says
It goes out the window, Tana!
Stay safe.

Of course, I cannot think of a more fun distraction :).
Claudia says
The best distraction!

glad that meredith is on the mend. hope you feel better soon.
the reorganization project looks great. and those clothes and suitcases are very sweet.
best wishes on getting done what needs to be done and which you don’t feel like doing. when i have things like that on my list, i tell myself over and over how good i will feel when those they are done. and sometimes i still procrastinate … ha not ha. human!
our forecast calls for six days in a row of 90+ degrees. 98 right now. a good excuse for procrastinating. :)
hope you are having a nice, easy day. stay safe and cool!

I’ve always been a procrastinator. I work best under a deadline.
Stay safe, Kathy.

If you’re not in the mood to do difficult paperwork, you’ll get nowhere with it, so it’s better to do as you did, something else, til the time is right. Although a deadline of course can really push the issue!
Those suitcases for the doll accessories are the bomb; good find! Love to see the wee doll clothes; I often wonder how the seamstress/artist can work on such a small scrap of fabric; makes me think of my mother sewing clothes for my Barbie when I was a wee one myself.
Gosh I hope you feel better soon, Claudia; and thanks for the better news of Meredith. Our humidity is bad right now in Southern Calif; it gets to my asthma; I have to stay in under filtered air, or else be in the car with air conditioning; of course the beach is always better air for me to breathe, but I only get to the sea about once a week. My husband and I were yearning for a nice, non-hazy day yesterday, speaking of how the first one we’ll get that’s clear and cool will be overtaken by the farmers around here, who burn orchards once they’ve let old citrus or avocado trees burn off, when they’ve decided to plant anew; and I never understand it, because they get incentives for chipping the old trunks/wood instead of burning, but some of the ‘ol diehard farmers just won’t change from how they’ve been doing this for a hundred years, despite knowing how much they pollute the air for everybody else who lives here. I don’t know why it’s allowed! They obviously can’t do it in summer with heat (and what should be dryness, not this current monsoon-y weather we’re having), so they take that first great, cool, clear Fall day in October or November … and ruin the blue sky! I love that I live in an agricultural valley, but I do not always agree with farming practices in my locale!
Claudia, how do you prepare on these new dialects you have to coach? Do you listen to voice recordings?
Claudia says
Oh, you know it’s very complicated work. I go to a lot of different sources.
Forgive me, but I’ve just been working on them and I’m tired!
Stay safe, Vicki.
