Birthday boy!

Let me tell you – and I know you know this already – this man is the best human being it has been my honor to know. The fact that I get to live my life with him is a gift beyond measure.

I’ve nothing new to add because I’ve said it already, but I can and will say how thankful I am for him. Every day.

Here’s to a blessed year ahead my love, with work opportunities and creative inspiration and love, love, love.

Happy Birthday, dear heart.

And Happy Birthday to my not-so-little Z!

  9. Happy Birthday and best wishes to Don today. The two of you are my role models for how I aspire living with my younger husband (who turns 65 in the fall) when he retires in 4-5 years. Right now I believe he’ll drive me nuts being around the house most of the time. Then I think about the two of you and how beautifully you both navigate being together while carving out “me time” seamlessly in your cozy cottage.

  17. HaPpy HapPy Birthday to Don and to Little Z. In addition, it is our 51st Wedding Anniversary.
    I was so sick a year ago, I don’t remember the 50th. So happy to be moving forward!!

    We are being told we may get rain tonite and tomorrow. It would be so exciting! We can (& do) water every day, but the grass is totally burned and the rain water is miraculous in comparison to what the hose will do for the flowers, trees, and lawn.

    Hope Don had a great birthday. Did he make a cake or a pie?? Take care.

    My husband has the same allergies to molds and mud and such. But it rarely rains here much, it’s a dry climate. Our lawn is already becoming bleached by the sun. I think we are starting to have the summer heat. Today parts of our large lawn look bleached. We’ve had beautiful weather before, though.

    I began painting about a year or so ago. I took a break from crocheting, but still do beading and need to sew that darn dress! And finish the quilt Mom had started. I like your card to Don. It’s cute. My paintings are still really young.

    Your love story is sweet and I love to peer into others’ love relationships. It makes me happy, wishful, wistful.

    My dad and I are just missing Mom a lot now. I’d have so much to catch up on with her. Dad is taking on his free spirit life. I’m not feeling well at all but hate to burden Dad just yet.

    The sky is already lightening with the new day. I always wake in the night and sometimes sit outside.

    Feels like you’re my friend.

    • Oh, my paintings are almost kid-like! At least, at the moment. I understand.

      I’m sorry that you and your dad are grieving, but it’s such an important process, Irene. Let yourself feel all of that, the missing, the loss, the unbelief – all of it. Even now, I wish I could tell my mom something or chat with my dad about politics. Or I wish I could ask them something that I should have asked them long ago. My brother died in 1991 and I still miss him so much.
