Easter

Happy Easter for those of you who celebrate this holiday. Happy Sunday for everyone who reads this blog.

It’s a gray morning. I’m hoping the sun comes out at some point. Yesterday was simply gorgeous. Don and I went on a trail walk. I’m determined to lose some pounds in the next month or so.

I used to put bunny ears on Scout every Easter and I briefly considered posting one of those photos on this post. But I find I’m not ready to do that yet. Maybe next year.

My Little Z, however, does have bunny ears on and we received an Easter message from him this morning. He’s adorable.

Enjoy your day. Eat some chocolate!

Happy Sunday.

Love the egg cup and the photos on Instagram have been great fun. It’s raining here but heading to church soon. Hoping the rain has washed the pollen away. I think I will have a bite of chocolate before leaving the house, great idea! Happy Easter to you and Don.

Ahhh, not even 11 a.m. and I am munching on jelly beans…chocolate to come later! Love your nest in the egg cup. Sun is finally making an appearance here today. I’m going to try to get a walk in.

Happy Easter Claudia and Don. We had a big storm yesterday afternoon and a good sized oak limb fell on our driveway. Thankfully there wasn’t anyone or anything there at the time. Beautiful sunshine today. Eating lunch at my mother in laws with family. Hope you enjoy your day.

    Happy Easter!
My daughter is in bed this weekend with bronchitis, but the sun is shining today while Sting sings “Brand New Day” which seems somehow appropriate. Yesterday a friend gave me the gift of Johanna Basford’s “Lost Ocean”, so I think I know how I’ll be spending an hour this afternoon!

Contrary to what some may think, colouring is not “useless”. Commissioned pastel portraits have paid for holidays and all sorts of extras in our household for years and a colouring book is a great way to relax and warm up before embarking on any “serious” colouring.

How timely! Here we are talking about Johanna Brasford and now you have your book! I’m sorry about your daughter having bronchitis. I used to have bouts with that when I was younger. It’s not fun! I know you’re taking good care of her!

Amen to the second part of your comment. I’ve had a comment on the blog and one privately where the writers denounced coloring and coloring books. They are entitled to their opinions, of course, but why – when I’ve been through the loss of my parents and my dog and I said it was helping me – they would take the time to comment negatively, is beyond me!

Perhaps “colouring” just strikes some as a frivolous notion or perhaps they’re put off by the usual people trying to cash in on this idea with inferior product. Johanna Basford is a very talented graphic artist whose work predates this “craze”.

I think there are people who find it frivolous or boring and a waste of time. To each his own.

I wish I could send you some of our sun and 70s temps (steadily climbing) from here in SoCalif. I’d like it to cool down today; we approached 90 yesterday and it’s too hot, too soon. As in other drought years…our last SEVERAL years…we are much too warm from April to November; the window for nice, cool weather is so small for us and I much prefer nice, cool weather!

About an hour ago, my neighbors had a big Easter Egg Hunt for a bunch of teenagers (teens of driving age). I keep thinking, “I thought Easter Egg Hunts were for LITTLE kids.” So, I found myself pondering, hmmm, I wonder what exactly was IN those eggs?! Maybe makeup for the girls, gift cards for the boys (money in general!). That sort of thing would have been ‘way too uncool for my own teenage years, but maybe we were missing out!

Second load of dishes in the dishwasher…. another Easter on the books. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, and it is now very quiet here!! The dogs are actually snoring! They aren’t used to such commotion!
It was cloudy here today, but we didn’t have rain. Supposed to actually hit the 60 twice this coming week and that sounds wonderful.
Happy Easter to you & Don!!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
