A Field Trip

October 21, 2011 at 5:00 am by Claudia

Yesterday, Don and I took a drive up to the mountain ridge near our home. There is a spectacular lookout spot there – just 5 minutes away from MHC – where the world seems to expand and tensions leave. I thought I’d share a few photos with you.

The Hudson River is over by those hills in the distance.

We stopped to look at this 65 Thunderbird that was for sale for $4000.00. Let me tell you, if I was moderately wealthy and had a spare $4000.00, and we didn’t need a new furnace and a hot water heater – a minor detail – and if we had a garage to keep it in, I’d buy it. I’ve always loved this year and model. I miss whitewall tires. Need I say anything about the color?

Oh. my.  It’s calling my name.

Last, but certainly not least, someone wrote this graffiti on a rock at the lookout site. Pretty nifty graffiti.

Sound advice.

Always loved the old t-birds, although the ’57 has always been my fave. They’re just so darn cute, aren’t they?

Great photos… don’t you love all the fresh air up there?

Beautiful pictures! I remember having to scrub white wall tires as a kid – not so fun to clean ;-)

I wish I was right there with you, smelling the Autumn air, leaves crunching at our feet, looking at the beautiful land. Instead I have to go to the mall (and not even for myself!)…..bummer.
By the way I tried to link to you 3 times yesterday and it wouldn’t work..blogger problems?

Hard to believe that this is just 5 short minutes from you. Amazing views and looks like you did get some fall colors. Yes, I can see you cruising New England in that beautiful set of wheels. It’s so you.

Any who… update on the new interface. I find the whole posting thing just fine. Not happy about having to move to Google Chrome, as I miss my tool bars at the top. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t move us all to the dynamic design and we loss all our fun sidebar widgets. Still playing around with it. But, I love you new header. This too we will all survive.

How wonderful that you live so near such a lovely location. Thank you for taking us along for a visit.

The Thunderbird is a beauty. I totaled my mother’s ’64 Thunderbird when I was fifteen. Ugh! Need I say more?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful view with us. I’m in the tropics now and MISSING real rocks so much. The centerpiece on my coffee table is a clear glass bowl filled with rocks from “up north”:)

Beautiful pics of your lovely area Claudia. Wish I could treat you to the perfect Mustang for you dear!

Enjoying the views from here too – across the rooftops to the bay. When Paula gets home from her business we are going out for Italian this evening. Off tomorrow and hopefully no problems now with the earthquake off the north of NZ this morning!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
