Forcing Myself to Shop

December 21, 2009 at 6:31 pm by Claudia

Yesterday, Don and I just had to get out of the house for an hour – we’re tired of feeling sick – and we drove around the countryside. Today, I made myself go out and do some Christmas shopping but I have to tell you, I was exhausted after about an hour and a half! I did get some things taken care of on the present front…I have just one more to buy. I am home, collapsed in my chair, drinking lots of water and happy to be in for the night.

The embroidered piece on the chair is something I found last year at Heidi’s shop. It is so sweet. I wonder who made it? Where was it displayed? This year, I put it on the chair by the spinet desk.

Isn’t it lovely?

Happy Monday!

Don’t wear yourself out! There are even more germs out in the shopping crowds. Of course you already know that. Playing mom here. Enjoy your evening with something tasty and hot to drink!

Oh, that piece is gorgeous, Claudia – and it loks perfect on the chair!

I haven’t been out of the house in 3 days. I don’t want to face the crowds or the snow. ugh.

I’ve bought a few little things for the girls, but for the most part we all decided to be creative this year and make each other’s gifts (this should be interesting! ha ha)…

Well, back to Santa’s workshop (i.e. my studio) to finish a couple of more gifts before the girls come home for Christmas!… Donna

Glad you were feeling well enough to get out for a bit :)

I still need to finish shopping, but it prolly won’t happen till Christmas eve at this point. I was way too busy this holiday season!

Take it easy! Hope you feel better tomorrow and the next day!!
This is such a special time of year and so hard to slow down when you are sick…

Sweet little embroidered piece on the chair. I used to do lots and lots of cross-stitch.

Have a jolly and restful evening.

That really is an adorable embroidery, honey. AND I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better. The first day out IS exhausting and you’re a young chick! Think of us old chicks. ;-)
    xoxo and Merry Christmas,
    Connie

    Hi Claudia,
Your little embroidered piece is gorgeous!
Last week, my oldest brother sent me a package filled with embroidered tea towels that belonged to my Grandmother. To see her tiny stitches (and even the patch-repairs she made) makes them very special to have.
I hope you both get to feeling better soon!

    Claudia,

Feel better. This time of year is so hard any way without feeling crummy.

Happy Holidays and take care my friend.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
