Number 3.
There are so many little buds out there and I checked the weather forecast: no frost for the next two weeks. Unfortunately, I leave on Monday, so Don has orders to take lots of photos for me.
I’m still congested but I feel so much better today. I ended up doing an at-home Covid test yesterday, simply because if, for some reason, I had it, I would have to notify everyone on the film. I was sure I didn’t have it, as I get these things once or twice a year and I always wear a mask when I am out in public – outside and inside. Nevertheless, if I was to be quarantined, better to know before I moved to Brooklyn.
It was negative.
I’ll have to take my first ‘working on the film’ official Covid PCR test next Wednesday, since we have to have them within 48 hours of our first day on the set and my first day is Friday. That is in addition to 3 or 4 quick tests every week. Each new week requires a PCR test as well as the quick tests, so I’ll be a veteran by the end of this shoot.
Today I’m going to run around getting things I need to take with me. Anything I can buy here, I’ll buy, as anything purchased in the city is more expensive.
It’s beautiful out there again today. Don has a zoom audition this afternoon. I’ve been mostly sitting on the living room sofa, blowing my nose, but today is a new day.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

Glad you’re feeling well. Wishing you well on the weekend as you get ready and on your journey to the city on Monday. Looking forward to your updates when you can. I’ve worked on many film sets and it’s similar to theatre ~ an often surreal world ~ but has some differences too. Enjoy!

Glad you’re feeling better! Wishing you a great working trip in the city. Are you taking the girls with you? I would think they’d like to go. :)
Claudia says
They’re coming with me, of course!
Stay safe, Jenny.

So glad you are feeling better! We got out seasonal flu vaccines yesterday and they sat us on our butts! I got up at 5am cleaned two bathrooms and made tea. At 7 I was back in bed. Just felt exhausted. Got up at almost 10am. Hubby got up at 7 and went back to bed and he is still there. He has muscle/joint pain. We have plenty of restaurants near, so I guess that is what we will do today. Order out and bring it home. I am feeling better, but not 100% yet. We get our boosters next week. So glad we didn’t get them both at once.
Claudia says
I had a flu shot last year, and I didn’t have a reaction. I was thinking of getting one Sunday but since we have to drive to the city, maybe that isn’t a good idea!
Stay safe, Tana.

Thanks, Linda.

Good news that you are feeling better. And I’m glad the test was fine. I did the same after returning from the wedding and kid sitting because I, too, have a sinus infection and just wanted to be sure that’s what it is. Negative, too. So, rest and do what you can to restore because your next weeks are going to be crazy busy — and I hope, fun.
Claudia says
Crazy busy and slightly scary!
Stay safe.

You are feeling better and I think the film workers have come to an agreement so things a looking up for you. I am happy about that.
Heartbreaking news this morning about the accidental shooting. I don’t think I can take much more sadness.
I look forward to your posts when you can. Enjoy. What a fantastic opportunity!
Claudia says
Yes, they came to an agreement last weekend, thank goodness!
My heart breaks for everyone on that set, for Alec Baldwin, the prop person who checked the gun, and for the families of the woman who lost her life and the director.
Stay safe, Kay.

Good news for you. Grand is planning to be working in NYC by February…publishing company has them working from home for now. Excited for you and Don.

Thanks, Brenda.

I’m glad you’re feeling better and hope you’re even better by the time you leave. A daughter suffering from a horrible cough said her FB memories had reminded her that this time every year she has a horrible cough.
I wanted to tell you that I was watching a Green Renaissance YouTube video titled “Life After” about an artist who had recovered from brain surgeries. Imagine my surprise when I saw Blythe dolls in her studio! Before you began talking about them, I wouldn’t have recognized what they were.
Claudia says
Wow! That’s wonderful!
Thank you, Linda.
Stay safe.

So glad to hear you are feeling better. As we get older, rest always always helps!! Hope you complete all of your gathering. Glad to hear Don will be coming up to visit you soon, just in case you forget anything or run out of things. I imaging things are much cheaper outside of the city.
We both got our (extra strength) flu shots 2 wks ago and didn’t have any reaction at all. Well, our arms were sore that evening, but that was it. Hope your lists are showing many items crossed off by now!! Take care.
Claudia says
We are going to try to get ours tomorrow. If not, I’ll get one in the city.
Thanks, Chris.
Stay safe!

glad you are feeling better day by day. hopefully your to-do list is short (and, better yet, done) so you don’t get exhausted and take a step back.
and that you and don have a nice weekend.
had an in-person interview last night … third step toward what i hope will be my new job. i have mixed feelings about the interview itself, but am trying to be positive and, especially, praying that God please opens this door for me.
cold here … i’ve seen people wearing winter coats, hats and gloves and i think “too soon! too soon!”, then remind myself it’s almost november … so i best get my winter things handy. landlord will likely take out the window air conditioner (which he kindly provides, installs and then stores each winter) next week. that and turn on the heat … humidity from showers has been setting off my smoke detector. ah, well, could be worse and i am grateful that it’s not.
out soon to spend time with members of my family … a chilly walk, lunch, a beautiful ride in the countryside, being together! :)
happy saturday to all.

It’s not that cold here yet, but it soon will be, which is why I have to take a variety of outerwear with me!
Good luck with the job search.
