Garden, Egg Cups, Squares 33 & 34

April 3, 2010 at 10:01 am by Claudia

In the garden:

These daffodils were planted by some previous owner of the cottage. They are right on the edge of our woods and the splash of color is always a delightful surprise.

A sweet grape hyacinth that didn’t bloom the first two years we lived here. I’m so glad it has decided to perform for us!

More egg cups:

Left to right: an egg cup made by Carlton Ware in England – the series is called Walking Ware – each cup has feet with different colored socks and shoes; a rooster made for Fanny Farmer – in fact, you can see Fanny Farmer inscribed along the bottom; a pig with a glass egg inside the cup; a dog egg cup; a little cowboy egg cup; a cute little girl with bunny ears, and a scottie egg cup.

Yes, there are more. They are more traditional and are not figural – maybe I’ll post a photo tomorrow.

Square #33 and #34:

#33 – my MacBook (I love it so) and ‘Blog’ because, you guessed it, I love blogging.
#34- music notes – much of my life has revolved around music – in choirs, as a professional singer (many years ago), on stage, at the piano. My husband is a singer/songwriter, as well.

I have 6 more squares to go!

The musical notes are the best square yet. And you daffy’s in the garden are soooo much prettier than mine were this year.

Hi Claudia! LOVE all your cute little egg cups. They are so sweet! Your squares are coming along nicely, but my gosh, a singer are you?!!.. Well, I’m no pro, but I guess we have a LITTLE something in common! I’m always humming and singing around the house… quietly, of course, but always! Gosh, this embroidery sampler is going to be an heirloom when you are finished. I would love to have a piece like that from someone I loved, depicting things they loved and thought about at that time in her life. Wonderful.

    Hi Girlfriend,

Beautiful flowers, amazing egg cups……I think the selections are getting better and better! I love your musical note, so pretty in pink. I’m still on a PC, and I love it……I know, so old school, but I don’t want to have to learn a new language! I hope you and Don have a blessedly beautiful Easter.

    Hugs,
    Meri

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
