Only have 4 days left in town…actually about 3 1/2 at this point in the day. That means I have to pack boxes, run errands and do just one more load of coin-operated laundry. Tonight is opening night for The Taming of the Shrew. Saturday will be the final opening and I’ll leave for the airport on Sunday morning.
I said goodbye to my little Koala friend this morning as I walked to the theater. Little Darcy aka Sweet Pea was napping as usual. Same perch. Gosh, I wish I’d had my camera with me the day I actually saw him standing and stretching with his eyes open! That little minx caught me unawares.
Ralphie and I have become good buddies. In fact, he roams between apartments, often snoozing at my feet. When Adrian has to be at rehearsal for a long time, I bring him over to my place. I am crazy about this sweetheart of a dog and I cannot tell you how wonderful it has been to have a dog around for the last 2 weeks.
I’ve been thinking about hosting a little blog party – maybe in August – centered around our collections. Seeing what others collect is always fascinating to me. Does that sound like something you might be interested in?
Sending East Coast greetings your way. How exciting, 3 and a half days left!! I would love to be part of your party about collections and I look forward to it! Still haven’t sent out that package of embroidery threads but it’s on the dining room table ready to go. I’ve seemed to have taken up procrastination big time with regard to that package – please forgive me. Give Ralphie a little scratch behind the ear for me – he does look like a sweetie! Ciao, bella!
I’m counting down the days with you. So, exciting to have you back home, so we can see your gardens.
Never been to a blog party before. Not sure what I collect other then millions and millions of balls of glorious colored yarn. Need any color I’ll keep my eyes peeled to see if I qualify.
Lots of weed pulling this afternoon, time for a little cat nap before grilln’ tonight,
Kate xoxoxox
PS love the shoes.
Oh I just LOVE that dog!!!! Just look at him!!!
What a great name, too!!
Can’t wait to hear about the “party” in August! :)
Ruth
Yay, Claudia! I’m so glad you’re almost home. But you may have to dognap that sweet Ralphie. ;) Collections are always interesting — great idea.
Oh, Ralphie is really going to miss you, Claudia. Look at that precious boy!
I would be very interested to see what people collect. I don’t have one collection per se, but I think I could play. I like to have collections of several things, but I stop before I go too far. Although, I do have quite a stash of sock monkeys! Maybe I will find something a little more grown up, though.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Claudia,
Safe journey home. Thanks for all the chats this week, I love you more than you will ever know.
Ralphie is so cute!!! I want to pinch his cheeks.
Is yarn a collection? If so I am in!
XO,
Mere
I have only been following your blog since you’ve been in San Diego, so I am looking forward to your return home and seeing that part of your world.
Ralphie is such a doll. The hardest part will be to leave him, but I understand you have two pups waiting for you as well as a sweet husband. Best wishes for your trip. I have so enjoyed this peek at Southern Cal.
3 days and counting!
So exciting!
Does it seem like it went fast now that you are at the other end of it?
What are you most excited to see and do when you get home?
A blog party sounds fab! Can’t wait!
Hugs,
Terri
You are so close to being home I am betting you can almost smell the grass and the flowers. Start clicking those heels together (and maybe your boxes will magically pack themselves)and soon you will be there. Safe journey!
xox Rella
Ralphie is going to pine for you!! He has such sad eyes . . . just like Kodak . . . .
xxoo
Yay!!! Almost home! I like the collections party!
Why not? I have lots of collections. That first photo of Ralphie is just absolutely priceless! Frame it. When I think of you going home, I picture you getting your bags in the door, greeting the dogs, then getting the toilet brush and Comet or whatever you use and tackling the bathroom!
Brenda
Hang in there Claudia! You are going to make it. Click your heels together three times and repeat after me….”There’s no place like home…There’s no place like home….There’s no place like home….
Won’t be long now, sweetie. It’s nice you made new friends this trip. I’m sure you’ll miss them, but will be glad to be home. I’d be up for your blog party! You can count me in.
xoxo
Donna
Almost home…good for you. The dog is a cutie pie too:-)
Doesn’t seem to me like you’ve been gone 10 weeks (was it?), honey. But soon you’ll be winging your way home to your hubs and fur babies.
Party sounds good to me!
xoxo,
Connie
I am sooo happy for you, I bet you can’t wait!

Cute shoes. I have a pair similiar to those and love how comfortable they are to wear all day.
The doggie face is too cute.
Enjoy your final days in SD.
Claudia,
I’ll bet you’ll be happy to get home. I think you should stick Ralphie in your bag tho, maybe no one will notice for about 1/2 a minute! What a cutie he is. Glad it all went well with the show so far. And in answer to your question, Yes! I’ll play along in your party. Lisa
How thrilling to be going home! You’ve been in SD since I’ve known you so will be great to read your post from home. Collections? Yes, sure! Wishing you a safe journey and joyful homecoming. xo – g

I am pleased you had Ralphies company for the last leg.
Have a safe trip home – how the garden isn’t too wild xxx
Yeaaaaa!!!!!! almost home! I have several collections. I don’t really blog about them, but this sounds fascinating. I won’t be blogging much in Aug. but i will be reading blogs. Our new grand will be here by then!!!!
Just one look and Ralphie melted my heart, but please don’t tell Bentley, he may get jealous. I’m excited that your stay is coming to an end and that you will soon on your way home. I have enjoyed your posts while in CA and will continue to enjoy them from your sweet cottage. I think your idea for hosting a collections party is great and will happily participate if you do. Have a safe trip home, and enjoy your last few days in CA, especially with Ralphie!!
Lots of love,
Susan and Bentley
xxoo
You’ll have to give Ralphie good-bye kisses from all of us! That’s going to be tough leaving him behind..what a dear!

Not long now Claudia! We’ll be looking out for pics of you – with a beaming smile – back home in the embrace of your family.
Would a bunch of half finished dollhouse constitute a collection? ;)
I guess your Fourth of July will be one of the best yet…getting to go home! Good for you! Glad you had doggy company for awhile…they are such good company, too. Oh Yessss! You know, I’m in with the Collectin’ Thingie….they don’t call me CollectinTexas Gal for nothin’. Have a great Fourth and Homecoming.
