Group Photo

March 17, 2022 at 8:37 am by Claudia

Yesterday, I roused myself enough to stage this photo:

The girls arranged in order  – Sophie, my first girl, on the left and Madeleine, my most recent girl, on the right.

And Bertie, of course.

I’m sort of crazy about this photo. It came out better than I had hoped.

I think Pippa’s legs were bent at the knees because she’s the same height as Mei. I love the fact that no one has the same color hair. I’m patting myself on the back for that one!

In the bizarre category, do you remember when Don was trying to get rid of that reference to him that said “Don Sparks was….?” It came up on the right of the screen every time he did a google search. Well he finally convince someone to delete him from the site, thank goodness. But every once in a while, he googles himself to make sure it’s gone. This morning, this came up:

What the ?????

There weren’t many votes, were there?

We couldn’t stop laughing.

My vote? With the beard.  (Not that they asked me.)

The shot on the left is his headshot. The one on the right is from Rescue Me.

We’re hanging in there, though we’re both sore today. We’re due for some rain, so we’ll hang out here and drive each other crazy.

As always on this date, I mention that, though I’m part Irish – and we’re talking Northern Ireland – St. Patrick’s Day has never been something I celebrate. It just doesn’t resonate with me. But if you do, I wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Stay safe.

Happy Thursday.

Don’s photos. I like the bearded one as well since it’s face on and you can see his kind eyes, and his sweet smile. He just looks like a man you could have a lovely chat with over a cup of coffee.
Those girls! Those clothes! I love enlarging the photo and studying the details. They are charming.
I’m sending good thoughts of healing for you and Don, and prayers out for all who are suffering for whatever reason.

You absolutely could have a lovely chat with Don over a cup of coffee.

      Thanks so much, Jan!

      Stay safe.

Sometimes my husband’s face is so familiar to me that I have to go and look at him to remember if he’s currently wearing a beard or not! If he were to somehow be lost and I had to describe him, I probably wouldn’t be sure. But I could tell what he was wearing because since retirement, it’s jeans and a knit polo!

Same here. Don has shaved in the past and I haven’t even noticed it!

      Stay safe, Linda.

With beard. :) Trimmed beard . . . I notice that so many men are letting their beards get VERY scraggly and unkempt. They look awful. IMHO, they look like a lot of the crazy trumpers. I always have fond memories of St. Patrick’s Day for a non-Irish specific reason. I grew up going to Catholic school. Born and raised in Los Angeles. On St. Patrick’s Day, Disneyland hosted Catholic School Day and you could purchase ticket books at a discount price. So, it was a holiday from school and we all went to Disneyland! Hope you guys are feeling much better soon.

The only time – and it was for a long time – that Don’s beard was long was when he was in Margaritaville. That was part of the character – he had a hard time letting that long beard go and I was so glad when he had it trimmed.

      Stay safe, Chris.

I remember . . . I think you commented on it at the time. Usually I prefer no beards, but I think Don looks handsome with one. :)

Don must have some wild stalker. That’s a hoot. And I agree with you on the photos. No contest.

The girls all look darling. Now, that’s a lineup!

The girls lined up are adorable! I love the photos you take of them. I like Don both ways but I think the beard really suits him. Hugs!

He looks better with a beard as he has a slightly receding chin.

      I love my girls, Linda.

      Stay safe.

Saw Don on a Law & Order earlier today!! Sans beard, I believe. He was a NYC Crime Scene Unit person. Glad you are both getting stronger. Doing your exercises likely is helping.

It was 67* yesterday, and 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow night. I am NOT a fan of this time of the year. Doesn’t bother me nearly as much when it flip flops like this in the Fall. I just want it to flip now and forget about flopping.

Hope you enjoyed a quiet day today. Take care.

      I remember that episode.

It’s going to be 71 here today and then cooler with rain for tomorrow. I heard the peepers last night for the first time, so take comfort, Chris – Spring is here.

      Stay safe.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
