Harper Day

February 8, 2023 at 9:07 am by Claudia

My girls always cheer me up, so I took some photos of Harper yesterday.

A Valentines Day theme.

A little closer. Look at the beautiful details: the subtle purple around the inner corner of the eyes, the beautifully drawn eyebrows, slight pinkness on the end of the nose and on the eyebrows, and my favorite – the little veins in the cheeks.

Harper was customized by Ferro Doll and to me, there is no one better. While I’d love to collect lots more Blythes, the reality is that I can’t. But one more Ferro? Absolutely, if I can get the style I want. Elena does a version of the doll with a head of curls and intense eyes/eyebrows. That’s the kind of girl I want. But she doesn’t take requests or commissions. I’ve let her know my interest but that’s all I can do.

And just to give you idea of her size against the real size of our home:

Yesterday was Harper Day.

Nothing else to report. I’m deep cleaning the bathroom in preparation for re-caulking the tub, but today I’m wrestling with a stye in my left eye, so I’m taking it easy. I remember that I had a stye on the very last day of filming on Spoiler Alert, too.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

I love that sweet heart she is holding. I can see why you are obsessed with them Such charm!

Nice job –doing the deep bath clean. (But maybe should it be AFTER the caulking stuff? I don’t know much about those things!)

No, it needs to be before, so I’m not caulking over dirt or hard water stains.

      Thanks, Jeanie.

      Stay safe.

Harper looks very nice the way you have her posed. She almost matches your McCoy, and the chair in the background. And your floors…oh my…gorgeous.

There always seems to be a lot of preparation for caulk…but it is so rewarding when that task is done. Hope your eye feels better.

    Enjoy your day! ;)

Up close, the floors have lots of scratches and nicks. They’re made of pine, which is soft, and they took a beating when we had the doge.

      Thanks, Donnamae.

      Stay safe.

It will. Then I just have to be better at cleaning regularly. I hate cleaning the bathroom.

      Stay safe, Barrie.

hope your eye feels better soon and the stye vanishes quickly, never to bother you again.

best wishes on the bathtub cleaning and caulking. i don’t mind most household chores, but cleaning the bathroom is different (and, with my back, some of that work is difficult and almost scary to do) … bottom of the list, for sure.

little miss harper is sweet. the photos show great details and i especially like the last photo for perspective. hope you find a curly-haired, intense-eyed ferro girl and have a happy reason (jobs) to bring her home soon!

been feeling like spring here the past few days, but we might get a bit of snow today or tomorrow. better now than april. :)

best i get to some chores here.

    happy, safe wednesday to everyone.

That’s why I avoid it, because I always have to rest my back after doing the cleaning. It’s very hard on my back.

      Thanks, Kathy.

      Stay safe.

I love your house and the floors are so pretty! This is a bit off subject, but I was wondering if Don has an agent or how does he go about looking for work in his field? I find the movie, acting subject fascinating.

Hate bathrooms, have you ever noticed how fast they get dirty!!!!

Yes. All professional actors have agents. Without an agent you wouldn’t have access to vital casting information.

      Thanks, Darlene.

I was watching some of his old work and he is fabulous! I really hope and pray he works again soon; the acting world needs him!

You should see him onstage! He’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen, Darlene.

Thanks for your kind words! xoxo

Lovely to have a Harper Day. She is so charming. Thank you for pointing out all her beautiful delicate features. And her Valentine heart! Did you make it Claudia? It’s very pretty and suits Harper to a tee. You’ve given me an idea how to pose Jesse and Walter on the stairs. I’m going to try that. I’m sure you’ll find that Ferro doll you want. Hope your eye is better. Brave girl to tackle recaulking the bath. Good luck. Hugs, Elaine

Oh, I’ve caulked before. There’s not much I won’t tackle!

No, the heart was a gift from someone though I’ve made fabric hearts in the past.

      Stay safe, Elaine.

I have found styes to be more frequent (for me….) when I get over tired or over stressed. Now how does one avoid that ever happening? Do let me know if you figure it out!

Hmmm…Well, I have certainly been stressed lately, so there you go! When I was younger I rarely got them, but now, I’ve had 2 in the past year and half.

As to how do we avoid that? You got me!

      Stay safe, Ceci!

She is such a cutie and I love the name Harper. Speaking of Spoiler Alert I was finally able to watch it the other night. Loved it so much. Fell in love with Ben and even more in love with Jim. What a sweet spirit he has. I was so excited to see your scene and it was of course well done my friend. I’ve told others about the movie. Sad but also uplifting. I will be watching it again as I always enjoy a good movie over and over. Hugs!

So glad you liked it. And I’m reminding everyone that my main job was to make sure Ben sounded American.

      Thanks so much.

      Stay safe, Linda.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
