We had a little snow overnight, so I ran outside to get some pictures. As it’s going to get warmer later today, rain is on the way for Christmas. This will be long gone. But hey, we have a White Christmas Eve!
We have to run to the store this morning to get a few things that we forgot when we shopped the other day. Then we’ll be in for the next couple of days, enjoying the holiday season. I have to wrap presents, as does Don. Thankfully, I don’t have to wrap the guitar!
Merry Christmas to all of you from Don and me! We wish you all joy and wonder and peace. However you celebrate during this holiday season, we hope you are surrounded by love and find pockets of time for quiet reflection.

Grandsons have lots of allergies
My daughter in law makes food they can eat
She eats only uncooked food…tiny tiny
Son pretty much the same as rest of us
Therefore she fixed a nice small meal for us this afternoon late

At their home
Then to my condo for boys’ and our gifts
A vegan cake to die for from a vegan bakery
Then tomorrow early I will go see them open gifts at home
Son bought this co do one mile from Their 5000 square foot home
Even has inside elevator
My Indiana family…some were here this month. We will talk tomorrow…
This is my first living here…
Low key as we don’t make food important…more being together…we do love the gifts for the Boys…
This is the first Christmas on my life I have not fixed any food…
They wouldn’t let me do anything…

sounds lovely, brenda. i am happy for you and members of your family to be able to spend time together, especially with this being your first holiday in florida (and given the ongoing troubles in the world)! and that they didn’t let you cook/bake. :)
spent time today with most of my family that lives here. one gone, for example, for working for a huge church … she had/has to be there for services at 9 am, 11, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 pm today … thousands of people there at each service. some of us drove around looking at the pretty light displays tonight. will spend a quieter Christmas day with some adults as my nieces go to their in-laws. mostly vegan here … vegetarian when with my family. will make a baked spaghetti casserole and then have apple pie while watching “it’s a wonderful life” tomorrow. low-key … the way i like things, too.
i feel the same … i love to give presents and am grateful for all i have, but truly don’t need much besides my family, friends and God.

Merry Christmas, Claudia and Don! One of our daughters and her family (all vaxxed and most boosted) were traveling this Christmas, so we saw them ahead of time. We’ll be traveling to our other daughter’s home for an outside Christmas since our highs are in the low 80’s now, and we’ll be having individual pizzas baked in their pizza oven. Mine will be vegan. Today–my 72nd birthday, too–we had a relaxing half a day opening gifts and preparing our contribution for tomorrow. The rest of the day, I spent a good bit of time looking in vain for sites near me that could administer Evusheld, a newly released prophylactic, long-lasting biclonal injection that is available to the immuno-suppressed or to those who cannot vax because of a prior strong reaction to a vaccination that shared ingredients with the Covid vaccines. I qualify on both counts. Like others like me who are not anti-vaxxers but are caught in this tough spot, this is an exciting development that will be life changing, one that left me crying with relief when the FDA finally issues the EUA. Unfortunately, not enough doses have been ordered and my state does not yet offer sites. It looks as if it will be months before some of us can take advantage, but at least I have hope now.
Thank you, Linda, for writing about this. Husband David has had horrible reactions to Moderna & Pfizer, but got all + booster. I’ll have him look into it if we get offered another booster next year.
