Spoiler Alert is still playing in movie theaters, but, as is the case nowadays, it is also streaming as of yesterday. It’s the initial release/early access via various streaming platforms, which means it’s still a bit pricier than it eventually will be. For us, it’s still cheaper than going to the movie theater.
I think we’re going to purchase it through Amazon Prime, so I can watch it whenever I want. I still haven’t really “seen” my scene. I was so surprised at the additional lines that I sort of froze and didn’t take it in. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a short segment, but it’s not as short as it was.
Also, there was an article in the NY Times about Jim yesterday and I was mentioned – though not by name.
This isn’t entirely accurate. Ben met with two coaches, one of which was me. I have no idea who the other coach was. And Ben made the final choice. But Jim sure gave me the opportunity and made sure I was one of the options.
I spoke with the woman who is producing the workshop and she is doing her best to find a way for me to do the job. That’s all I can say for now. I really want to help my colleague, so we’ll see what happens. We had a good conversation
I spent an hour or two herding the girls in order to take a group holiday photo. I’ve yet to pick one but I used both my big girl camera and my iPhone.
I have two more sweater photos to share; one today and one tomorrow.
Zoe and bokeh. You know how I love bokeh.
And because I loved both of these shots and couldn’t decide what to post, here’s another:
I would be happy to accept a life-sized version of this sweater.
We’re due for awful weather tomorrow and Friday – over two inches of rain. The temp will reach 52 degrees on Friday and then will drop 30 degrees on Saturday, with high winds. That makes for dangerous driving on Christmas Eve. Frigid temps on both Christmas Eve and Christmas – highs only in the twenties.
And no white Christmas. Sob.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday

Kathy, I just opened your package. Thank you so much! I love the plates and the napkins and oh my goodness! I love this edition of TKAM from Estonia. Where did you find it?
Thank you so much!
Stay safe.
kathy in iowa says

I truly love it, Kathy. Thank you with all my heart.

My friend at home is hoping for better weather as she has much food preparing for family. Those of us who have always had family traveling have never wanted white on Christmas alas. Indy group is getting really cold temps under zero and wind. Even here in Florida we are getting cold. Some of us are Not up to par so will do Christmas when all well.
I listed to Don’s songs liked and subscribed. It is amazing how two people, both so talented and kind and good, met and got together. Wonderful . When I watch Don’s videos it is like he is there with you in the background cheering him on and vice versa. Today is a bittersweet day for me. Prayers to you both. Going to go out on a Don song while I clean kitchen.
Claudia says
I read your comment to Don and he was very touched, Brenda. Thank you.
Stay safe.
Elaine in Toronto says
Fingers crossed your rain might turn to snow. We’re expecting a storm tomorrow into Friday so we shall see. Zoe is just adorable in her red Christmas sweater. I had to look up “bokeh” on Google because I had never heard the term. Love Zoe’s cute side kick, too. Stay safe. Stay well.
Hugs, Elaine
Claudia says
I don’t think it will turn to snow. Maybe snow showers but there is no prediction for any accumulation. 2 1/2 inches of rain.
Thanks Elaine.
Stay safe.
Petra says
Better stay at home as much as you can!
Claudia says
Oh, we’re prepared and are staying in.
Thanks, Petra.
Stay safe.
Donnamae says
I really hope things work out for you and that coaching job. Fingers doubly crossed.
That storm that Kathy talked about? Yep, here, too. Lots of snow, around 9 inches, and high winds, and whiteout conditions. Snow is starting tonight, which means everyone in town seemed like they were at our grocery store this morning. Shelves were getting bare on certain items, and checkout lines were very long. Guess everyone around here, is taking this storm before Christmas seriously!
Let us know if you find one of those sweaters…I’d like one, too. Hope your day goes well! ;)
Claudia says
Well, enjoy the snow, Donnamae, and stay safe!

Love the little red sweater. Interestingly enough, I have placed an order with world market for coffee mugs with the same pattern. (wouldn’t a matching sweater be lovely?) Although this year is a bit pathetic from the stand point of decorations, I have recently decided that our decor will remain simple, but will be of a more natural design. Actually using pine cones and pine branches and various other decorating, similar to what we would have had, before we all had money to spend on the sparkles. With 4 cats (2 very naughty ones) it had to be simple and we gave up on trees, real or otherwise, as space is a big issue. I do enjoy seeing all the other decorated trees, though. Yours makes a lovely backdrop for your photos. We have the beginnings of a storm here. 5 to 8 inches expected with wind gusts up to 50 mph and temps in the negative, including the highs. Stay warm and if I don’t get another chance, Merry Christmas to you and Don.
Claudia says
We will have the low temps but it will be rain here for us. Wish we were getting snow!
Stay safe, Ranee.
Chy says
I hope your weather settles! We have snow and cold. Frost and crystals. Pretty. But this is the only time of year I love it. Only at Christmas!
Chy says
P.S. Wish me well ….. I put a request in for my very first Blythe doll from my family for Christmas ….. we’ll see what happens!
Elaine in Toronto says
Hi Chy, wouldn’t hurt to tell Santa that you want a Blythe doll for Christmas 🎄. Hope you get your Christmas wish. How exciting. Hugs, Elaine
Chy says
I shall send Santa a note as well! Excited to see if there’s a little someone under the tree on Sunday!
Merry Christmas!
Chy
Claudia says
I’m so excited for you, Chy. Please let us know what is under the tree this year.
You can send me a photo at the email address at the top of the sidebar.
Whoo hoo!
Stay safe.
Claudia says
Only at Christmas indeed!
Stay safe, Chy.

We are supposed to have a blizzard starting tomorrow and into Sat. I am so glad I shopped yesterday because my daughter reported that the stores are packed today with long lines to check out.
I hope you don’t get freezing rain, I’d much rather have snow.
Fingers crossed that things work out for the job.
Happy Solstice!
Claudia says
I’d much rather have snow, as well. This stuff is a pain in the tush.
Thanks, Marilyn.
Stay safe.

Relatives of my husband’s in the Dakotas and Wyoming are in sub-zero weather for which they had to prepare mightily; just not a good scenario when you’re sick and elderly, so we worry; but they know what they’re doing, have lived in those places all their lives, and that is to just cancel any reason to have to leave the house and instead stock up, be emergency-prepared with all the necessary like flashlights, food, drinking water, medicines, blankets, etc.; stay put, stay in. Sounds like you and Don are doing the same about not getting out in that severe weather. So great to have the choice.
Claudia, I forget to tell you these things but I wanted to say again that I find your ‘mini’ book reviews on things you’re reading to be very helpful because I often buy books for Christmas gifts, trying to choose best for what any of my recipients might enjoy reading. So, recently, I was glad to get your informal take on the latest Horowitz and Herron works. Of course I recall in past years that you were essentially a professional book reviewer (it wasn’t just conversation in the day-to-day of the MHC blog), but you really can nail down where the author is doing his/her best and I appreciate the info. (You’re really good at this! I rely on what you tell us!)
Stay warm. Stay safe. I’m now worried about yet another friend; we’d been supposed to meet up with each other Tuesday (distanced, just out in the warm sun here outside, each in our parked cars where we used to work/the employer’s big empty parking lot!) but she has now been exposed to Covid directly last weekend at a small family gathering where nobody tested ahead of time before getting together, which is just NOT the greatest thing for people in their 70s, 80s and a mother-in-law who is frail and age 99. My friend’s brother-in-law, who had showed up with a sore throat and in denial he could possibly have Covid, but who then tested vigorously positive for the virus about an hour later, at least got immediate urgent care and a Paxlovid prescription, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for all of them; and, maybe just maybe, they can follow thru with their weekend holiday plans after all quarantining/isolating for the past five days or so; they’ll know more today and tomorrow. My friend is the only one of the bunch who doesn’t have big risk factors for Covid other than age. The rest have heart problems, diabetes; the MIL has a feeding tube. (And then her one caregiver got stuck, too, because she didn’t want to go off shift and infect her own family, and the alternate caregiver didn’t want to get anywhere near the house!)
My cousin FINALLY got home from somewhere in the Mediterranean (not her intended port of exit) after picking up Covid in mainland Greece; to me, a total nightmare of nearly four troubled weeks in having to be confined to her stateroom on the ship, sick and alone; then having to travel back to the States when weak and still feeling ill although no longer positive for the virus. It was a messy detail of rescheduled flights et al. Thankfully, she’d purchased trip insurance. Just glad she could make it home for Christmas to heal and mend (after having been gone since Thanksgiving, when it all was supposed to have been a much shorter ‘vacation’).
What a time.
Claudia says
Yes, we’re doing the same thing. We have food. We’re all set for Christmas. Just don’t want to lose power, that’s all. Fingers crossed.
Glad to hear your cousin arrived back home! Good news.
Stay safe, Vicki!
jeanie says
Thanks for the streaming info. That’s probably how I’ll see it, too. And Zoe’s sweater is four-star adorable!
Claudia says
It is, for sure!
Stay safe, Jeanie.
