Such a pretty hyacinth! And the scent is heavenly. Thank you so very much for your lovely, supportive comments on our recent losses. It has been a tough time for us, as well as for many others who loved these wonderful men. Don has lost the 3 most important men in his life in the last year. It sometimes doesn’t seem real…I suspect this is a natural coping mechanism. One can only process so much at a time.
I hope your Easter was happy. The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been working out in the yard, trying to get everything ready before I leave for San Diego on April 17th. Then I have to leave my gardens just as everything gets ready to bloom. I’ve decided that this will be the last time I leave for such a long time in the Spring. Gardening is one of my greatest pleasures and I waited many years to have my own garden. This will be the 3rd year in a row that I’ve been gone at this time of year. By the time I return in July, many of the spring flowers will be gone.
I played catch-up on the 39 squares project this morning. I’m actually stitching 40 squares so I did three this morning. Two of them are combined.
In honor of Spring – my favorite Spring flower, the tulip.
Home = Heart. Only three more to go!
Have a wonderful Monday.

Your squares are turning out as cute as can be! I know that you put such deep thought into each one and they are perfect!
At times it is very difficult to process our feelings in our time of emotional pain. May each day bring comfort to you and Don. I find peace in God’s word – this helps me through each day.
Lucky you aren’t in So Cal right now! A lot of shaking going on right now.
sending hugs,
Becky

Hi Claudia,
Those Hyacinths are gorgeous!!!!! It’s too bad you’ll miss your spring flowers. My 10 rose bushes have started producing, but right at this moment, they each have about a dozen buds waiting to burst, so that will be quite a show. My Freesia’s are almost all gone already, but my honeysuckle is growing like a weed. I love April and May….FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS everywhere!
Hugs,
Meri

Hi Claudia,
I love hyacinths but they don’t love me. After about 1 hour in the house my throat will begin to swell shut. How sad because I love the scent and they are just so beautiful. Love the little tulip square.

I would be so sad to leave my garden in the spring. How do you do it?
Kim says
Claudia- love the new squares!! The tulip is so cute! Hyacinths are one of my favorite flowers and I always have to get down on my knees to smell them whenever I see them! Nothing better than the smell of a hyacinth or the smell of rosemary โฅ

Warm, sunny greetings from Frog Hollow Farm! Claudia, your squares are just the sweetest things! What a wonderful endeavor! Why do you have to leave for San Diego – that’s such a long time to be away from your garden, especially when it brings you so much peace and happiness. I used to feel the same way here in NJ come September – most of our vegetables and berries were ripening all at once at with me going back to work I would just feel so overwhelmed with the whole thing of freezing, canning etc. Now, being retired, I’ll experience a totally different fall – just like I’m experiencing a totally different spring! Take care. Ciao, bella!

Your squares are so pretty. Sort of like a running diary of your life. My tulips are late this year, just now blooming. My hyacinths weren’t nearly as pretty as last year. Last year they looked more like your photo. I just love the sweet blooms! I don’t think I could stand to be away from my garden that long!

Claudia I would also like to send you condolences on the losses you have experienced lately. I am glad that you have these sweet memories to hold onto. It always seems strange to say goodbye to longtime friends. And it takes a lone time to accept that they really are gone.
I too would be sad to leave my garden in Spring. But there is always another Spring friend.
Your blooms are gorgeous!
hugs
