This morning:
What the…???
It’s still going on, a mix of snow and rain. It won’t amount to much, but it is covering the ground this morning. Rain should kick in this afternoon.
In the meantime, will I ever get to clean up the garden beds?
Left to right:
• Cottage Ware by Kensington in England.
• A charming egg cup with a dish for the spoon. Or bits of the shell. I found this at the flea market in Paris.
• Motto ware from Torquay Pottery in England. A lovely gift from a reader of this blog. You can see a charming cottage surrounded by trees. And if you look at the other side of the egg cup…
You see the words “Laid today.”
So darned charming!
I’ve been looking at egg cups on eBay and Etsy. There are at least two wooden egg cups I want, cups I’ve never seen before. I’ve got them bookmarked.
Margaret is a strong woman and she has a positive attitude, which will serve her well during the next few months. Adrian sounded more rested yesterday, which is a relief. Right now, everything is on hold until they can do further surgery on her leg. Yesterday’s surgery involved a piece of glass from her glasses that had embedded itself under her eye – they couldn’t remove it and then stitch it up because it would have pulled her lower eyelid away from her eye, making it impossible to close. So they removed the glass and added some sort of filler.
Prayers continue.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.
The temps are bouncing up and down but they will get there soon (I hope)!
Glad to hear that the doctors are taking good care of your friend. It is so amazing what medicine can do these days.
Happy weekend, Claudia!
Thank you so much, Ellen.
Stay safe.
sounds like the surgery to remove glass near margaret’s eye went well yesterday. good for her, for adrian. good to hear about that, about progress. a positive attitude and rest are so important, too.
with sadness and stress from the recent losses of some friends and now the terrible accident for margaret and adrian, please take good care of yourselves and each other.
prayers continue for margaret and adrian. they also continue for you and don and everyone else here and elsewhere in the world.
be safe in every way, everyone. xo.

ps … hope you get those egg cups.
Thank you, Kathy.
Stay safe.
Hope your weather gets nicer. Those egg cups are all so charming and fun to see. So glad to hear of your friend’s positivity…that will surely help. Sending lots of good thoughts.
Thank you, Barrie.
Stay safe.
I remember an Easter when I went home from Boston to Connecticut. We drove to the Hudson Vally to take my grandmother out for lunch. It took the usual 45 minutes to get there and about three hours to get home, thanks to a snowstorm. We had to park at the foot of our street and walk to the house as the plows weren’t out yet (I ruined a brand new pair of shoes). My sister and I were stranded at our parents’ for a couple of days before we could get a train back to Boston.
Yes. April is an uncertain month and I’ve certainly been through my share of surprise April snowfalls!
Thanks, Margaret.
Stay safe.
