An Idea

November 1, 2009 at 3:49 pm by Claudia

Happy November! I have a soft spot for November – Thanksgiving is in November and so is my birthday. I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween.

I’m in the middle of a project. It involves this:

which used to be part of the buffet that I turned into a kitchen island:

It was on the back of the buffet – but since it was going to be an island, I wanted the top to be flat. This piece has been propped up in a corner of the kitchen awaiting some sort of inspiration.

Now I have an idea. We’ll see if it turns out!

Claudia, that is a beautiful buffet!

Don’t you love it when inspiration hits!!

I’m sitting here in our family room trying to get some insipiration as to how to rearrange the pictures as my niece brought over some Warren Kimble prints she no longer is using . . . . nothing is happening so far, LOL

    Hugs,
    Marsha

This is the best kit island I’ve seen yet. Wonderful job! Hmmmm, what will you make with the left-over piece? A bulletin board maybe? I’m looking forward to seeing what you create!

    :)

I can’t wait to see your “project” but I should have thought that you can still have that piece on the back even with it being an island, sugar. The island turned out gorgeous though. I wish I had the room for one in this small kitchen.

Oh Claudia! I love the use of the buffet as an island! If only I had room to do that in mine — I have a piece almost just like yours!

Can’t wait to hear what you’ll do with your little piece of moulding!

What a teast you are, Claudia! Now, you just can’t go leaving us in suspense like that. LOL!

I like your buffet turned into an island. So I know that the other piece will find a good home in a new project.

Love that Island! What a great idea!
I can’t wait to see what you do with the unused piece of the buffet.

I was out of town this weekend With my sisters and my mama and had no time to visit all the pinkies, but I’m home now.

It’s just me again! The kitties (especially Spotty) do love their little window nook, where they can keep an eye on the outside world. Spotty seems to spend more and more time there lately.

You should most definitely leave your pumpkins out through Thanksgiving!! I went around the house and yard yesterday taking down all of my “Halloween” decor (lamp mask, Ratty from the parakeet cage, and Witchy Woman), but the ‘autumn’ decor stays!

Looks like part of the makings of a quilt hanger. I can picture it antique and a beauty hanging beneath it……

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
