If It’s Sunday, I Must be in Wisconsin

May 2, 2011 at 12:03 am by Claudia

Hello, everyone. This will be short and sweet as I arose at 3:30 this morning and can’t think straight. My eyes sting and feel like sandpaper. It’s only 4 pm (5 pm back at home) and I’m wondering how I’m going to stay awake until a decent hour. I don’t want to go to bed too early or I will wake up in the middle of the night.

I managed to find my way to the condo I’m staying in without any trouble. According to the company manager this condo is much nicer than most of the company accomodations. I certainly lucked out! It looks out on a golf course and is open and airy. For over half the time I’m here, I will have it to myself. For the last 3 weeks, I’ll share it with the guy who is composing music for Blithe Spirit. He’ll have the downstairs area to himself – my bedroom is upstairs along with the kitchen and living room.

On the way home from the airport, we stopped at a grocery store so I now have enough food on hand to get me through the week. Unfortunately, the cook of the family is Don. Shouldn’t he be here to cook for me? Here’s some photos of the condo:

And the view. I’ve seen lots of golfers out this afternoon.

I’m grateful for my lovely apartment. Now I wait. Tuesday is the first day of rehearsals. There are a couple of events on Monday night. Unlike San Diego, a place where I had lived and worked and knew very well, this is all new to me. We’re out in the country. I’m feeling homesick. 7 weeks sure seems like a long, long time.

More soon.

    Hi Claudia,

Yes, indeed….your chef should have been part of the deal…tee hee :0)

Looks like a comfy place but I know seven weeks is going to be difficult. Can you go home any during this time? I hope so.

I wish you a lovely and productive week,

    Hugs,
    Stephanie ♥

It looks doable and livable, but see if your roomie cooks…that’s what roommates are for…right?…lol

How was your garden this morning on your way out?

Claudia, it’s a nice condo, but all things considered, I am sure that you would rather be at MHC. I do hope that you left Don with a camera, so that he can record the flowers as they bloom. Just keep repeating, “There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home.”
Try to enjoy your adventures in Wisconsin. Please keep in touch when you can.

Your condo looks nice– lots of light, and pretty floors. Nice view too! It’s hard to leave home, but hopefully you’ll soon be fully immersed in your work and also have a bit of time to explore the town. Hang in there!

If you’ve got to be away from home this is not a bad place to be, nice and clean looking, bright, and next to a golf course is just like having your own personal HUGE front yard :) Pretty nice all round really.

    Hugs

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
