If its Wednesday, it must be Gainesville

September 24, 2008 at 8:45 pm by Claudia

My day started very early; I had a 7:00 am flight to catch. I flew to Minneapolis and then caught a plane to Orlando – the land of Disney. The plane was full of kids and their harried parents. I grabbed my rental car and drove 2 hours to Gainesville. I am tired. But my room is lovely. Very spacious, cool prints on the wall, a comfy chair with an ottoman – big king size bed. I decided to order room service and just crash for the night. Tomorrow I start work on The Wizard of Oz, which should be fun. I’ve spent time in Gainesville before on another production. Its the home of the University of Florida – BIG football town. I was here last year on a football game weekend and the amount of alumni who come to the games is amazing. I saw them everywhere, sometimes in motor homes decorated with the Gator colors! I wonder if this weekend will be the same? You have to hand it to the Gators – they inspire extreme loyalty.

I’m loving my laptop. It truly makes being on the road so much easier. I can catch up with my email, read other blogs, go to my favorite news sites, do my work… it helps to pass the time, since I’m missing my husband and the dogs so much.
This hotel is on a lake and I hope to explore the surrounding area a bit tomorrow. I’ll try to post some more pictures.
More later.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
