This is what I call a Filler Photo.
Because I’m not there. I’m still here. In Hartford.
Knowing I was just about to check out of the hotel yesterday morning, I decided to check in with Darko to see whether he might want me to stick around another day to work with some actors before I left town. He thought that was a good idea. So we extended my stay and I’m not going home until this evening.
It was a very busy day – no time to take any pictures for you – and that brings us back to the Filler Photo and why it was necessary today.
I love working with this cast of generous and friendly actors/singers/dancers. Goodness, the music written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (of Ragtime) is beautiful! Having them on hand, as well as the writer of the text, playwright Terrence McNally, during table work has been invaluable and fascinating for this text coach.
I am blessed.
I’m working one on one with some actors this morning and then we’re continuing table work this afternoon and then I’m headed home, where I will have one day off before I head into Manhattan on Monday to work with another client.
Then, maybe some garden clean-up?
Knowing the craziness of Spring where I live, I’ll have to check the weather forecast.
Happy Saturday.

A full day and I just arrived home and Don is cooking dinner!
Donnamae says
Well, that worked out well, didn’t it? You have a most fascinating job! I was going to do some outdoor clean-up today…but now, I have to wait for the NEW snow to melt! When will it ever end? Love your filler photo…new and different angle…I like it! ;)
Claudia says
It’s rather unbelievable that there is still snow! I know that Michigan got hit as well.
Tammy says
That is one gorgeous filler photo. So many pretty colors. And everything all neat and organized. So the opposite of what I’ve got going on around here. Glad to hear you are enjoying this busy time.
Claudia says
I am. I love my work, and though it can get tiring, I’m not complaining!
Doris says
Glad all is well.
Claudia says
It is. And I’m home, just about to eat the dinner Don cooked for me.
Kay says
I am so proud of you! So very cool to be so close to the artists.
Claudia says
I’ve worked with a lot of famous and not-so-famous people and I love working with them all. There’s the rare stinker, but they are very rare.
Kay says
Of course I know both you and Don are artists too.
Even more proud of you both.
Wendy T says
Hope you get time for Spring gardening soon. Raining today, probably the last of the El Niño, but my new plants are thriving, so I’m grateful for the wet weather. Safe drive home tonight.
Claudia says
I won’t have time for several days, and it’s still going to be nippy outside this week. But I think I will be able to start cleaning up the garden.
Nancy Blue Moon says
Be safe driving home tonight Claudia..I will be thinking about you…
Claudia says
I’m home. Don is about to serve dinner. Tired but happy.
Sheila says
I am so hoping that your play makes it to Broadway, Claudia. It must be so rewarding to work as a team with such talent. And they are certainly blessed to have you.
I hope you have a safe trip home and that Don is feeling much better!
xo

I’m home and Don is doing better, Sheila!
Sheila says
Oh good! I’m happy you are home safely and Don’s leg is improving! xo

What a lot of fascinating work with fascinating people! You sound invigorated. It’s so great when what you do for a living is something you also love.
Weather report: On/off rain showers ALL DAY Saturday here in SoCalif; what a blessing! It cleared slightly after 5pm and we’d taken another spontaneous trip to the beach (I happen to love a rainy, stormy beach) to watch the amazing cloud formations over the water and were treated to an explosion of dark & moody blues of sea and sky; white, gray, blacks of thunderclouds and sunset (bare hint of sun in the break). And the hills and cliffs leading down to the ocean are covered in ‘taxi cab yellow’ mustard growing wild and gloriously sweet so that the green slopes look sunlit when they’re really instead just crowned in this burst of yellow which I also equate to the clear yellow of the lemon in a lemon meringue pie. We’re not supposed to pick the wildflowers but I bent off one teeny-tiny stem to study it and its blossom-y poof had 25 little pods/buds which is why it blankets the the earth in such a dense carpet of color. Ah, we’ve missed this kind of Spring in SoCalif for SO LONG! On the one hand, the rain is hardly measurable where we are, and there wasn’t a lick of water where creek meets river but, you know, we’ll take every drop we get.
The days are probably running long for Don with his convalescence and without you. Maybe you two can have some nice, relaxing days as the week begins once you return home. Hope the drive back isn’t rainy like the day you set off; I’m sure hours of driving in rain is taxing due to the extra vigilance; I was thinking about it, and I’ve never had to drive in multiple hours of pouring rain, so I guess I should consider myself lucky. I can remember traveling with my parents on a vacation which took us through somewhere in Oklahoma and we were on some sort of turnpike you couldn’t get off of once you were on it…no shoulder either…so that you had no choice but to drive at a snail’s pace even though you could barely see through the sheets of rain. My dad was the world’s most excellent driver but I can remember once we got off that thing and could pull into a diner or gas station or wherever we wound up, that he was just beat. A lot of strain to keep safe on the road in weather like that!
Claudia says
It sounds like you are having a lovely Spring, Vicki. All of you Southern Californians deserve it!
