I’m running late this morning. I’m going to have to start this day over. So far, I’ve spilled coffee in the bathroom, dumped water on my foot, and I’m rapidly becoming out-of-sorts.
So a reset is in order.
And maybe a primal scream.
Life is a bit tough lately. I’m working through some things, worrying about other things, but at the same time, it’s beautiful outside and I’m grateful.
Note to self: meditate after you finish this post.
Yesterday, I did what I sometimes do to lighten my mood. I dressed a couple of the girls.
My international girls.
Madeleine who is from Spain in a beautiful flowery dress made by LenaLittleDress who lives in Russia. The shoes are from Cora Huang, who lives just one state away in Connecticut.
Also out on the porch with Madeleine – Wren.
Wren, who is from China, is determined to explore the porch and the surrounding property.
Her hat, and overalls are from its.soquiethere, who lives in France. Her top is from moshimoshistudio in England. Olivia (from Spain) was wearing those sneakers when she first arrived at my door. They look pretty cute on Wren.
I do love them all. There’s something almost meditative about choosing clothes for them. And I love to photograph them. They can’t take a bad picture, of course – how I wish the same held true for me!
Okay. I’m going to have some of the coffee my dear husband made for me to replace the cup I spilled.
And I’m going to hit ‘reset.’
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.

hope you get a reset and especially that whatever you’re working through and worrying about get better soon. will pray about that.
maybe it’s my attention span (seems to get shorter every day), chores and hobbies i see all around me or the possibility of falling asleep, but meditation (as i understand it) doesn’t seem to work for me so instead i try to get outside and walk. maybe meditation can be done through movement and being in nature …?
i like both outfits, but especially love madeleine’s dress and yellow shoes. i am dressing more like wren lately. :)
hope you all are having a good day. stay safe!
kathy
Claudia says
I do both!
I dress a lot like Wren, too.
Stay safe, Kathy.

I’ve been needing resets most days lately. Not sure what’s going on but hoping it gets much better. Could be a birthday I’m having this week is throwing me off. oh well.
kathy in iowa says
hej, linda…
happy (upcoming) birthday! hope it will be a very happy and easy day for you and start a great year ahead for you, too. and that you have no need for resets.
take care.

Claudia says
Oh, it’s your birthday week! Happy Birthday, Linda!!
Stay safe.

I can see why dressing the girls would make any dark mood brighter! Chin up — where can you go but up?!
Claudia says
Exactly!
Thanks so much, Jeanie.
Stay safe.

I know you’ll do it, but it’s hard to work through these periods I’m labeling growing pains, as I and others seem to be struggling or at least working to come to terms with new realities, whether it be health, aging issues, or the other changes we might be facing. I don’t think growing pains are restricted to the young.
Claudia says
They aren’t. I’ve been going through quite a few of them lately.
Thanks so much, Linda.
Stay safe.

I love seeing your girls! They always bring a smile to my face! As I get older I am aware I cannot cope with as much as when I was younger. With covid and the war, I find myself overwhelmed so easily. I sit quietly and think; To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose….then I unload what worries I cannot change and deal with personal problems. The list shrinks so much! Keep showing the girls! They help me heal from the constant horror of news. I say prayers constantly for things I cannot change and pray for the strength to fix what I can.
Linda says
Tanya I agree it us a little more difficult coping with life’s challenges as we get older
Yes I agree
Claudia says
We seem to feel overwhelmed constantly, Tana. I understand. I just have to do things that take me away from the news.
Stay safe!

Well, I did it. I bought 2 Blythe dolls, now can’t wait for these 2 precious girls to come! Of course I picked 2 so they wouldn’t be lonely. I loved my dolls so much as a child, would play for hours with them. Is life coming full circle?
Claudia says
Whoo hoo! I cannot wait to see them, Linda.
Yes, I can attest to the fact that life is coming full circle.
When you get them, send me an email (link is at the top of the sidebar) with a photo. Please?
I’m very, very excited for you.
Stay safe!

Hope the day has gotten better as it went along! We had rain this morning but now the sun is poking out so that has brightened my day. Hope yours has brightened too!
Claudia says
My allergies are haywire which is definitely taking a toll.
But yes, the day got better.
Thanks, Ellen.
Stay safe.
Deborah says
Goodness Claudia, you’ve turned me on to Blythe dolls! They are a bright spot in these dark times. Your girls always look so cute in their sweet outfits and Cora’s are among the best. I’d shop her wares but the unbelievable shipping costs from the States makes that out of the question :(
Claudia says
Those darned shipping costs! I understand.
They are indeed a bright spot, Deborah.
Stay safe.
