Photographing the beauty of a deer in the early morning light. He was in a group of three right outside my kitchen window.
Reading more books by Deborah Crombie. After reading two of the later books in the series, I’ve reserved the first 6 from my library. I’m on number two.
Looking at the mess on my kitchen table and completely ignoring it.
Pulling skeins of cotton out of these bags to make these:
As well as crocheting two Obsession Scarves. All this crocheting, which I love, has kept me from this:
And I really want to get back to it.
Pulling out my fabric eggs just in time for Easter.
And making these, which are now in the shop:
These are crocheted in a gorgeous cotton yarn from KnitPicks called Shine. There is a slight sheen to the flowers which is so pretty! They are about 3 1/4 inches in diameter and the aqua and coral are bright and cheery. Too bad the weather wasn’t the same when I photographed these!
I like these particular flowers so much, I’m going to make one of these for me!
Linking to Elaine’s Sunny Simple Sundays.
Happy Sunday.
Chel C says
Such a pretty post. I love your eggs. I saw a pattern for these in a recent magazine and think they would be perfect in using some of the fabric off cuts I have got. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Chel x
Claudia says
They would be absolutely perfect for scraps, Chel.
Nana Diana says
You’ve been a busy girl. I don’t make nearly as much time for reading as I used to-more’s the pity. Your eggs are just darling and so are those crocheted banners. Love them- Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day-xo Diana
Claudia says
You too, Diana!
Cottage Sweet Cottage says
I am SO going to make a swag in red and yellow for my kitchen! Love it!
glad you are so busy!!! Isn’t life good?
Claudia says
You must make one – it’s a lot of fun.
Mary says
Love how busy you’ve been doing things you really love!
My table here is a disaster too – travel stuff from Antarctica still piled up – because I have more posts to do on the blog one of these days. More travel folders requiring major attention for the next adventure (more about that another time!). Lists everywhere – the garden ‘to do’, the attic ‘to do’, and on and on it goes.
Meanwhile, this afternoon I will fill my ears with beautiful pre-Easter music, attending Bach’s St. John Passion downtown in the fabulous opera/music hall, where my lovely granddaughter Jasmin will be singing (in German no less) with her HS chorus. Life is good, and busy.
Happy day dear Claudia – tonight I may have time to relax and pick up that crochet hook and teach myself to make lopsided flowers – doubt they’ll ever look as beautiful as yours!
Hugs – Mary
Claudia says
Oh they will, Mary! Enjoy that beautiful piece of music – it’s glorious!
Barbara F. says

She’s written a series, Lorrie – they are wonderful books.

Loving the deer, the book, in the middle of the one that you recommended recently…loving it. The eggs are delightful, so cute, seem like a bit of well worth it work. And of course loving the crocheted garlands.
Jen
Claudia says
I made the eggs about 4 years ago when I was in San Diego. Then I made some for my sister, as well.

Sounds like a lovely Sunday to me. Don’t you love how quiet Sunday mornings are? Deer would be nice. We woke to cats scrapping! Haha! Looks like you have rain? I tune to the weather channel every morning and see what the day is like for family everywhere. Love your sweet patchwork eggs!
Claudia says
No rain here – though we did have some SNOW last night – just a sprinkling. Rain and snow for Tuesday. Oh joy.
My Little Home and Garden says
It would be a wonderful thing to look out of my window and see deer, Claudia!
It looks like another beautiful, sunny day at your home, with books and handiwork at the ready. Your garlands are pretty and I also like the fabric eggs. Did you make those as well?
-Karen
Claudia says
Yes, I made them about 4 years ago, Karen.
Debra says
That deer photo is so lovely!
Claudia says
Thank you, Debra. They came back later in the morning – poor things are probably hungry!
Poppi Linn says
Love your deer photo., Claudia. Your right, they’re probably hungry. I have a lot of deer in my neighborhood. I plant whatever they might not eat-but, they love they ivy growing on my wall, so I let them eat it this time of year. It’ll grow back quickly.
Pretty creations too. You are busy.
Have a good day!
-Lynn
Claudia says
You too, Lynn!
Donnamae says
Glad you are happy busy! Are you enjoying the Crombie books? I was thinking of starting at the beginning too! ;)
Claudia says
I’m really enjoying them, Donna. And when the books start the two main characters are just colleagues, not involved with each other yet. I want to track the progression of their relationship.
Donnamae says
Ok…talked me right into that one! Since I can’t garden, might as well read! ;)
Cranberry Morning says
I love those garlands – and all the other fun and cheery things to look at. Sure puts one in mind of spring!
Carol says
Claudia,
I love your garlands too, and have started to make some myself. Do you tie a slip knot at the end of each? I made one in Spring-y like colors and put it across my fireplace mantle, but just have some heavy candle holders holding it in place! And I think I will make a black and white one in shimmery yarn.
Elizabeth says
Claudia,
You’ve been busy my Friend! Love all your handsome handiwork.. I tried over the summer
while on vacation. It sits….
Hope all is well with you and Don :)
