Hello, all. After one extremely long travel day, about 11 hours total, I’m in La Jolla with my sweetheart. He greeted me with these roses and a vegan chocolate bar.
We’re going out to breakfast soon at his favorite place, Harry’s Diner, and then we’re going to mosey on over to Ocean Beach, where we met 23 years ago on this date. It’s the 23rd anniversary of that fateful day! Sort of perfect that I happen to be out here at this time, don’t you think?
The wi-fi here is dreadful. I have to figure out how to deal with it. I won’t be posting every day, but I will be posting, so if you don’t see a post one day, don’t worry.
Right now, Don is playing the ukulele and I’m at the computer. It’s a very small apartment, typical actor digs, and there’s ‘stuff’ everywhere. But it will be my home for the next several days so I will have to surreptitiously “rearrange” things when Don is doing his show. Ssssh! Don’t tell him.
One of the things that happens when you’ve been apart for 3½ months is that you get into your own routines. I’m already screwing up his routines and when we get home, he’ll be screwing up mine. And then we’ll readjust and all will be well.
Happy Fourth.
Happy Tuesday.
Happy anniversary! I’m so happy for you. Oth to have been reunited! All is right with the universe again.
Thank you, Wendy!
I’m glad you made it safe and sound. Happy Anniversary!

What a great time to be back together! I know this is making both of you very happy.! Best wishes and enjoy your reunion! Becky in very rainy Eureka Springs.
How romantic! Glad you are back together. Enjoy your time at the beach!
“Journeys end in lovers meetings.” I’m sure you probably know “Twelfth Night” by heart and don’t need my poor quote. Forget the deer, the rabbits, the hedgehog(or whatever Henry is). The flora and fauna will still all be there when you return. Just enjoy the time with your husband !
Best wishes from Best Bun
So glad you are there and with Don. That was a loonnggg time apart!!

Chiming in here at 9pm-ish PST; hope you both have had a wonderful reunion. I bet it was fun for you to go to the beach, Claudia!
As I write this, I’m listening to the city fireworks go boom-boom-boom. We can’t be there nor dare we leave our dog’s side since she is so completely hysterical when it comes to fireworks. When she isn’t frantically barking, furiously panting, she is whimpering like a puppy and exhausted; it gets worse every year and I think next year I’m going to have the vet prescribe sedatives for her. My mom had a dog like this once and the only way they could calm her down was to lightly throw a blanket over her head; seriously. She’d froth at the mouth. Poor dear things. Animals don’t understand. Dogs’ ears are so sensitive.
Our new neighbors who, so far, haven’t turned out to be as ‘bad’ as I once thought, although I wish they’d take better care of their yard (they’re young, busy; they work long hours, no time and money as first-time home buyers; I get it!), are having a big party today…which we were invited to…and they’re setting off TONS of fireworks, which are illegal in my town, so of course our dog is on 300% hyper-scared watch but we just keep gritting our teeth, clenching our jaws, trying to reassure the old girl, knowing it’ll soon be over, and it’s hard to take away people’s fun and celebration of the 4th (so it’ll never be us who calls the police). Frankly, I glanced out at one point and it was kinda lovely to see their colorful sprays of small-time fireworks; kids are enjoying it at their party, and I remember the excitement of backyard fireworks myself when indeed I was a kid! Just hope for the safety of everyone there, since fireworks can be awfully dangerous in amateur hands.
Here’s to a perfect visit, you and Don. In no time, you’re hitting the road to see America. Oh, how I envy you but so glad you get to experience it! Happy Trails!
Happy anniversary to you both! Enjoy your special time together. xoxo
Happy Anniversary!…You spend your time together…we will be here waiting when you have the to post…
Happy reuniting; happy anniversary! I do know what you mean about screwing up each other’s routines though. When Brian has a weekday off or is working an evening shift so that he’s home in the morning, it totally throws me off. And I admit – sometimes it makes me crabby. Something I definitely need to work on. Enjoy your time in California!
Glad you arrived safe and sound. Don is a romantic. Those roses are lovely.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
Marilyn
Thank you, Marilyn!
