Lazy Saturday

December 8, 2018 at 11:24 am by Claudia

Partly cloudy and cold today! But, so far, I’ve seen more sun than clouds, which I’m grateful for.

We had a lazy morning; reading, drinking coffee and chatting on the sofa. Now that I’ve got all the Christmas decorating done for the big and little houses, I can sit back and enjoy the view(s). Right now, I’m looking at the dollhouse and enjoying not only the decorated tree but all of the detail I see in each room. I mentioned before that usually the dollhouse exterior faces me when I’m sitting in the den, so I go for months without looking at the interior.

It’s like getting reacquainted with an old friend.

I bought this stuff at Target that I mistakenly thought was a small wreath. But it was a long garland, So I cut off a length of it and hung it on the cubby.

Hello, Snow White, Sneezy, Doc and Happy. I am determined to find Sleepy, the one egg cup that has so far eluded me. I’m officially putting it out to the Universe.

I have to throw a little bokeh in here. One of my favorite things to do at this time of year is to try and capture the bokeh from the lights on the tree. I miss it more often than not, but the process is fun.

Nothing on the agenda today other than lazing around and going to get my hair cut this afternoon. It needs it!

Happy Saturday.

Your pictures are always such a pleasure to look at. I can’t believe that you’ve almost filled that darling little cubby. I love all your Christmas decorations, too!
Hope you and Don have a lovely relaxing day.

Oh, I could have filled that cubby immediately! But I wanted to save space for more vintage finds! Thanks, Cathy.

Your home looks warm and inviting. Enjoy your lazy day. I finished the ‘kitchen’ tree today. I think that might be the last of the decorations. If the kids get their tree today I’ll go over tonight and watch them decorate. It is always wild and fun! Hugs!

Quiet day for me, too. I’m making ornaments while college daughter is finishing her thesis that’s due this coming week. She’s home for three weeks! Yay!

I’ll keep an eye out for Sleepy!

Coziest, prettiest Christmas cottage ever! And I gotta say, that egg cubby cabinet absolutely makes the place. IMO anyway. That and the dollhouses. Looking forward to more “Christmas-through-Claudia’s-eye” photos this season. Have a lovely restful quiet Saturday. Peace. 🌟

I LOVE that cubby. I find myself sitting on the loveseat in the living room and turning my head to the left just so I can see it! Thank you, Janet!

i can see why you described (before) your home style as being like the “Christmas in connecticut” movie because it is … clever, charming, cozy all-around! congratulations on that … it takes vision and heart.

glad you found a way to secure the egg cups daily and especially when you need to move the cubby. i, too, will watch for “sleepy” for you.

hope you and don have a nice rest of the weekend.

I’m glad that I’ve taken care of the egg cups. It needed to be done but having to get at the Christmas stuff forced my hand. Thanks, Kathy.

Love how your house looks. I am especially interested in your house plants as I am working on my collection now. Had a few problems last year and am trying to restore mine.

Good luck with that! Sometimes plants don’t make for unknown reasons. It always upsets me, but I try my best to save them before I give up.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
