Look What Arrived in the Mail!

December 17, 2009 at 9:53 am by Claudia

Are you familiar with Vintage Lizzie? If you aren’t, run right over to her blog and website! She has a shop on Cape Cod (already I am jealous) and she is so talented. I got to know her through Elyse, who has visited Lizzie’s shop and shared it with us in her posts. So – Lizzie had a giveaway and I won! Yesterday, in the midst of this awful cold/sinus yuck and dealing with a mistake made by the tax people in NY State, this package arrived:

Let’s see what’s inside, shall we?

This gorgeous stocking, made by Lizzie, with her own line of fabrics; UrbanGardens Textiles. Look at the detail in this beautiful stocking.

This is the prettiest stocking I have ever seen – something tells me I will be leaving this out all year long.
Lizzie made these sachets (with UrbanGardens Textiles) – filled with lavender:

That sneaky Lizzie also included some wonderful treasures:

I knew this next beauty was coming, so I just had to buy a little tree – you will see why.

Lizzie made this reversible tree skirt for a feather tree. Isn’t it lovely? I don’t have a feather tree, but I do have this sweet white tree from Michael’s.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lizzie, for such a generous giveaway. You are a treasure, indeed. I love everything – a pink lover’s dream come true!

Claudia, every time I think I can’t fall in love with your cottage any more than I already am, you go and post new photos…

Did you ever see Funny Farm with Chevy Chase (hey, now that I think about it – the dream house they bought was in upstate NY!) It’s one of our favorite Christmas movies. Anyhow, the new buyers want not only their house, they also want everything inside (including Yellow Dog)… Well that’s exactly how I feel about your home! I want the house, the furnishings and home decor items (especially the parakeet lamp!), and I’d LOVE IT if Scout and Riley were also included! So do we have a deal?

What wonderful giveaway prizes you won! I’ll have to check out her shop! And the cameo style tree skirt is perfect with your white tree! I don’t think you need a feather tree at all – that one is gorgeous – especially against your white brick wall.. (sigh…. I’m drooling over your photos again)…

    Claudia,
I understand you know about Muirheads?? I just GOOGLED the name Muirheads and your blog came up! Please write me back! I just posted a pic on my FB of my mom, Grandma and me riding the “sleigh” to meet the cheesey looking Santa! Too funny! Such a fake looking beard I snapped it off of his face at 5 years old (back in 1961!!) LOL! Yep,..I’m a real character!
Please write me at cheryl.vw@sympatico.ca (Toronto)
    Cheers! :)

Claudia ~ I am so far behind on your posts. However, I have enjoyed reading the past weeks posts this morning with my coffee. You are so lucky to receive such wonderful gifts. I am going to visit her site and see what other lovelies she has to offer.

Sorry you haven’t been feeling well – get better soon. Love your tree – I know what you mean about it not showing the way it really looks…I can’t photograph our tree very well. It’s frustrating!

I will see you tomorrow for Pink Saturday. I haven’t lived up to my promise from last week to blog more and show other xmas decorations in our house. Where does the week go?

OMGosh Claudia! I started at your blog this morning. Followed some of your links, then more links and totally forgot to come back and leave a comment. So glad you came by as it jogged my cold-ridden memory. That has got to be the most beautiful stocking I’ve ever seen either. Just gorgeous! Congrats on your win and all those beautiful goodies. I’m sure it just made your day, and you so deserve it!! ♥

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
