Loss

May 31, 2021 at 9:32 am by Claudia

Based on a photo I saw online. I’d credit the photographer, but that information was missing.

Wouldn’t you like to live there?

Don’s nephew passed away yesterday. He was 44. He had two young children, ages 8 and 6. He had survived and triumphed over serious illness at a young age, going on to live a full life, full of family and friends and his wife and children. He was the son of my sister-in-law and he became the son of Don’s brother when they married, joining his two children in a fully blended family, loved and adored.

It’s a devastating loss for all who knew and loved him, and that includes us.

He succumbed to cancer at exactly the same age as my brother when he was taken from us.

There’s no making sense of it.

Rest in peace, Bruce.

Stay safe.

Happy Monday.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Your painting reminded me of the book “The Shipping News” by Annie Proulx.

Sorry to hear the sad news of Don’s nephew. For some folk, life just doesn’t seem fair.

Your lovely painting looks like Wales or Ireland to me.

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s always sad when someone dies, but with small children … there is so much peace in your picture. Hopefully you can feel it and give it to the family left behind.

    All the best!

Claudia I think painting can be cathartic although when faced with such a loss I might be howling at the top of my lungs on my front porch. I have done both. I am sorry your family is going thru this.

So very sad and hard to make any sense of it. Know that you & Don have so many thinking of you.

As soon as I saw the painting, I thought of Rosamunde Pilcher.

I hope you will both find some peace today.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
