Lovely Presents in the Mail

July 20, 2009 at 5:26 pm by Claudia

I’ve won a few giveaways lately and I’ve been rather tardy in posting about them. The first was from Fifi – I won one of her original paintings. To say the least, I was thrilled. It was waiting for me when I arrived home from San Diego.

Isn’t it lovely? The title is “Pont Vecchio on the Arno.” I love Fifi’s work – she is so talented and has a wonderful style. I can’t wait to get this framed. Thank you, Fifi!

The second gift was from Caren at Kdottie. Let’s open it together.

I love the dotted paper!

This is the sweetest little dish – very delicate and oh so pretty! Thank you, Caren!

We had a surprise today – Don has a friend who plays guitar in Paul McCartney’s band. They are currently touring and we have free tickets to see Sir Paul tomorrow night!! He is playing at the new home of the Mets – CitiField – commemorating the famous Shea Stadium concerts of many years ago. We are so excited! And my husband is over the moon! Don has seen him before, but I haven’t. (When I was but a young thing I had my own “I Love Paul” button). I’ll be sure to tell you all about it. Whoo hoo!

    Hi Claudia,
Beautiful giveaway items. I absolutely love Fifi’s work and I have an original of hers as well. She certainly has her very own style which says “happy” to me. Have fun at the concert, can’t wait to hear all about Sir Paul :) Now don’t make a scene and scream too, too loud!

That’s going to be a great concert– so wonderful to be able to see your old crush (hee-hee). Were you one of those screaming, crying girls? ;) Paul was my favorite for years. I like most of them about equally now…
    Have a great time!!!

    Hi Claudia,
What wonderful giveaways you have won! I adore the little pink dish!
Paul and his band just played here in the Halifax area but we didn’t get to see him. He put on quite a show, performing for two and a half hours! He sang a number of songs after an encore; always the gentleman!
Paul was always my favourite too. I had his picture plastered all over my room when I was a teenager. He’s one of the best!! Have a great time!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

Claudia ~ First of all, thanks for “spotlighting” my little giveaway! How sweet of you. Secondly, my hubby is so jealous of you – I just read your post to him – he idolizes Paul and all things guitars!

I want to know if you are going to wear your button? How fun would that be!

Have fun (I’m a little jealous too)

Thank you Claudia. Here is the latest:

Update on Amy! The doctors came in, they talked to Amy and were finally able to get the IV started. Ladies we start praying, it will be 2 more hours now, Amy is back in the procedure room. The Dr.s like to use the artery on the right side of the groin, but Amy had cancer there at the age of 10 and there is scar tissue there, so it may not be possible on the right side and they may have to go to the left. Debbie said that Amy was hesterical this morning, but after talking to the Dr. she had calmed down. The Dr. said they will occlude the corotid artery for 30 minutes, if she shows no sign of a stroke then she will be scheduled for surgery, if at any time in those 30 minutes if she shows a sign of stroke, then the surgery will not be possible. We have jumped the first hurdle with prayer, we move on to the second. Thank you so much for loving our family, Sherry

That painting is beautiful Claudia….you lucky girl.

I am sure you’ll enjoy Paul tonight. I have seen him a few times and he puts on a wonderful show…a true performer.

I’ve only seen him back home in England though…I would love to see him in the US as there is a definite difference in his following over here which would be interesting to see.

    Dear Sweet Blogger Sisters:
Update on Amy. She has PASSED the test. Yes, she has PASSED the test. The Dr. said her little vessels looked so good and she had such a wonderful blood flow. While the balloon was inflated she showed no signs at all of a stroke. They injected some die at the time the balloon was in there, and she is on her way for a scan of sorts to double check the brain and make sure there is no sign of a stroke. This is more or less a double check. She told Debbie, “No more tests Mom, no more tests.” The Dr. said he saw no reason why she should not have the surgery, but would talk with them after this scan. Debbie did get to see Amy on her way to the next test, and she was teary eyed but glad it was over, and Praise God she PASSED. Keep up the prayers as they are so working. God Bless you, Love Sherry

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
